Airedale Stitchers Airedale Stitchers is a thriving and vibrant group affiliated with the UK Embroiderers' Guild.

We are Airedale Stitchers, a thriving and vibrant group of textile artists and needlework enthusiasts, affiliated with the UK Embroiderers' Guild and Yorkshire and Humber Embroiderers' Group. We meet weekly in Eldwick, West Yorkshire and are open to stitchers of any skill level. The aims of our group are to encourage, inspire, nurture, facilitate and educate the skills of embroidery and textile arts, within our local community and beyond.

Thanks SO much to Olwen for leading a fantastic mini workshop last week.

Olwen patiently and expertly guided us to make these GORGEOUS trees and posies based on Dorset buttons. This was a new technique to many of us, and judging by the results we all brought in this week, we love it!!

"Thanks so much to Brenda at (she's not on Insta but I'll show her on Wednesday!) for her amazing mini workshop to make this fabulous pincushion.

I used woven picot and raised leaf stitches as well as woven roses as instructed! Brenda even took the trouble to make a vegan, non silk kit for me...I've stitched mine onto calico.

Our very own Brenda led a fabulous workshop for us today, creating some beautiful embroidered pincushions. Brenda prepared excellent kits for us and gave us loads of ideas for embellishing them with fine embroidery. A super morning was had by all, with lots of happy relaxing stitching, plenty of chat, and some delicious cake provided by Susan (yum).

Massive congratulations to Selby Textile Art Group on their amazing exhibition "All that Glitters" currently showing at the magnificent Selby Abbey.
The huge variety of exquisite work looks incredible displayed in the stunning setting of the Abbey Church and is well worth a visit. There is a cafe at the Abbey, plenty of parking in Selby and STAG have some really gorgeous things on sale as well. 🌟👑🌟🪡🧵

We were really pleased to welcome Rachel Moaby from Sunny Bank Mills yesterday. Rachel gave such an interesting talk about the history of Sunny Bank Mills, the archives, and their future plans.
