Thanks SO much to for inviting me, we had an absolutely AMAZING visible mending workshop on Sunday, funded by
The Cultural Passport for Young People initiative in York.

All ten students were fantastic to teach, enthusiastic, creative and eager to learn. We had some important conversations about the impact of clothing waste on the environment, the techniques we were learning and using our clothes for creative self expression.

There were some equally vital conversations over stitching, about tv shows, social media, gcses and how government decisions affect the lives of young people.

Further proof that sewing in a group for a couple of hours is good for you, whatever your age!

What a vibrant and busy meeting we had yesterday! So many skilled hands at work, tables and sewing boxes overflowing with activity and creativity in abundance! 🪡🧵📍🥰

Thanks SO much to Olwen for leading a fantastic mini workshop last week.

Olwen patiently and expertly guided us to make these GORGEOUS trees and posies based on Dorset buttons. This was a new technique to many of us, and judging by the results we all brought in this week, we love it!!
