Well this time last week I was in Disney with my two delicious granddaughters and absolutely living our best lives … Sophie was rehearsing & on the back lot with her dance school Ockerby Academy and Ava & I were enjoying Disneyland park life in anticipation of watching the OA Superstars very own show.

Disneyland was pure joy and the OA show was pure class! Sophie & her buddies were outstanding and Daniella Claire Dunn put together a terrific 20 minute set. The kids set the stage alight with their infectious personalities and skilful dancing. It was very emotional and having done this myself on four occasions previously with my own dance academy I can honestly say it was way less stressful and way more enjoyable watching from out front !

I’ve waited one week on to post as there had been some incredible footage & images shared by Ockerby Academy if you check out their feed.

Wish we could go back and do the whole thing again … ❤️🖤❤️

The last two days … pure class!
Prima Dance Events stages the most delightful events and it has been an honour & a privilege to watch 100s of delightful children doing their thing.
Sharing this experience with fellow adjudicators Charlie Bruce Academy Charlie Bruce and Adam Scown added extra icing to the Prima cake.

I feel blessed to be able to do what I do so thank you and huge congratulations to all the competitors who put their very, very best dancing feet forward … you can all be proud.

And so the weekend starts here …

Thank you to Eric Bishop who wrote this very special poem with me & my late friend and fellow Zumba Queen & Showgirl par excellence, Rachael K, in mind … there still isn’t a day goes by when I don’t think of her, especially when I’m dancing with my lovely clients … ❤️

A LIFE WELL LIVED …

A "Life Well Lived" were the words inscribed
on a wooden seat where folk could bide,
and watch the world upon its path
whilst pondering on, this epitaph.

What kind of person would come to mind?
What were the hills they had to climb?
Surely though, they would have to be
a happy soul, content and free?

Someone who lived their life with joy
not with regret for broken toy,
but with thanks, for having played
not count the cost of price once paid.

Perhaps a person, to whom each friend
was the one, on whom to depend?
They may not have spoken very much
but could light a room, with smile or touch.

No regrets for days that cannot be changed
but learnt to adapt and re-arranged,
perhaps a man or woman who
could change grey skies from dark to blue!

A person who lived a life so full
and never found a moment dull,
yet with a heart of compassion show
to their dear friends, when tears would flow.
When my time on earth is through
to those left behind, I'd leave this clue,
you may keep your wealth, your looks, your fame
just give me "A Life Well Lived" beneath my name.

I’ve been in the adjudicating chair again and loving seeing all the children & schools at Spring Dance Festival in ASKERN absolutely smashing it. The standard is high! Very high and every section a joy.

Anyone remember the old Horsforth Easter competition at St Margaret’s Hall ? I used to love breaking open my Easter eggs while watching my fellow competitors…

Well done to Claire & Jo for organising such a warm hearted event for these youngsters.
