Professional musicians play monthly at the Loxwood Jazz Club, in the intimate setting of North Hall, Loxwood! Hope to see you at one of our wonderful events.

Hosting the evenings, multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger Simon Bates plays with the featured artists every month. Simon originally launched the Loxwood Jazz Club to raise much needed funds to extend and improve his local village hall. The first night in December 2009 was a sell out and it continues to sell out most months. UK based and international professional musicians join Simon to p

rovide a variety of highly entertaining evenings in our intimate hall. There is a licensed bar with real ale and the hall is set up in a relaxed way with candlelit tables to create a fantastic atmosphere.

If you've ever found yourself enjoying the smooth saxophone music used in TV programmes, documentaries, adverts or as background music in cafés and restaurants, there's a good chance you've already heard the unmistakable sound of Paul Desmond.
Best known for composing the timeless classic "Take Five", Desmond's beautifully melodic, easy-listening style has delighted audiences for generations and continues to be instantly recognisable, even if you don't know his name.
On Friday 3rd July, Simon is playing the beautiful music of Paul Desmond at Cranleigh Arts. This isn't an evening of complicated jazz – it's simply beautiful, relaxing music played by four outstanding musicians, with Simon sharing some of the stories behind the man who inspired him to take up the saxophone.
If you've never been to one of Simon's gigs before, why not give it a try? We think you'll leave with a smile on your face.
The music starts at 7.30pm in the comfortable, air-conditioned Cranleigh Arts Centre.

What a fabulous night we had on Tuesday with the Pure Brubeck Band! 🎷

With 130 people filling North Hall in Loxwood, it was another wonderful evening enjoying the musicianship of some of the UK's finest jazz performers. Nights like these remind us what a joy live music can be.

Our next stop is Cranleigh Arts on Friday 3rd July, where Simon Bates and his outstanding quartet will be celebrating the music of the legendary Paul Desmond – the saxophonist and composer behind the Dave Brubeck Quartet's iconic hit 'Take Five'.

Expect beautiful melodies, superb improvisation and an evening of world-class jazz in the intimate surroundings of Cranleigh Arts.
