Born in the north-east, Amanda began her professional training at the Newcastle Performance Academy where she gained a Foundation Degree in Musical Theatre. Having moved south she continued to train at Bird College, graduating with a BA (hons) in Dance and Theatre Performance. Amanda is trained in many different dance techniques including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Commercial Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Contact Improvisation, as well as vocal technique, acting and performance studies. Amanda is also a fully qualified Level 3 personal trainer.
Amanda has worked extensively professionally and her most notable role was Assistant Dance Captain in London’s West End production of ‘We Will Rock You’ at the Dominion Theatre. Other theatre and TV credits include; Dance captain/cover Princess Jack and The Beanstalk (Plymouth Theatre Royal, Royal and Derngate) Ensemble, Cover Fairy (Belfast Grand Opera House) Blue Peter (BBC), A League of Their Own (Sky One) Top Gear (BBC), Big Brother (Channel 4) & 5 Star (US advert) Nikki in Sweet Charity (Studio House, Sidcup)
Alongside performing, Amanda also teaches dance, drama and musical theatre workshops to students of all ages, national and international. Workshops are taught at various locations around the country including Pineapple Performing Arts School. Amanda’s most recent choreography credits include; Secret Earl of Biddick (Tall Ships, Washington Arts Centre), Robinson Crusoe (Gala Theatre, Pantomime) Rent, Addams Family (GTSS, Gala Theatre)
Currently Amanda is studying to complete her Teachers Certificate with NCDTA, which opportunities that will arise.
