Experience the magic of traditional Scottish music with local folk singer and poet, Maggie McGeary at Biggar Day Out on Sunday 18th October! 🎶

Join Maggie for two Scottish Song Workshops, suitable for all ages.

Explore traditional Scottish songs from Biggar and beyond in the adult music workshop; learn through interactive ear-based training, improvise, and uncover the beauty of folk music. The augmented Mighty Joes return once more from their wanderings and adventures for another night of rousing and evocative takes on contemporary and classic Americana with their Open Highway gig.

This time they’ll be looking outwards as well as homewards, and exploring some alternative routes and roots along the way…

Pre Festival Music Concerts 🎷🎹

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of jazz with Tret Trio's intimate performance at Cosmic Grooves in Lanark on Sunday October 11th. Featuring Rob Hall on saxophone, Philipp van Endert on guitar, and Tobias Weindorf on Wurlitzer e-piano, this is a rare opportunity to experience world-class music up close and personal, with only 30 tickets available for this exclusive event. Biggar Little Festival is looking for a new volunteer Treasurer!

Our brilliant Treasurer is stepping down from the role, so we’re looking for someone to join the Festival team and take over this Trustee position.

We’re looking for someone who is well organised, comfortable with spreadsheets, banking and budgets, and able to help us meet our responsibilities as a Scottish charity, including our reporting to OSCR.

Some financial or accounting experience would be very welcome, but you don’t need to be a qualified accountant. Most importantly, we need someone reliable who would enjoy being part of the team behind Biggar Little Festival.

There will be a proper handover from our current Treasurer, so you won’t be starting from scratch. You will also have the support of the existing trustees.

⚠️ TICKET SCAM WARNING ⚠️

We’ve seen a number of scam comments offering tickets for resale on some of our posts. Unfortunately, Facebook doesn’t believe they breach their Community Standards, so will not remove them.

While we will continue to do our best to identify and remove scam comments as quickly as possible, we want to make everyone aware of the warning signs so you can avoid being caught out.

Things to look out for:
• Tickets being offered for resale when tickets are still available to purchase through the official website.
• Accounts that are not local - often based overseas.
• Accounts that have only been created within the last week or two.
• Sellers who are unwilling to provide reasonable proof that they actually have the tickets.

Trust your gut. If something feels off or a deal seems too good to be true, it most likely is!

Please also be aware that we do not facilitate ticket resales. At the seller’s request, we may pass their details on to people looking for tickets on sell-out shows so they can contact each other directly. We don’t handle payments or guarantee any ticket sale outwith our website.

Please stay vigilant and, if in doubt, don’t send money until you’re completely satisfied that the seller and tickets are genuine.

Our first sold out event is the Flower Casting Workshop with Earthware!

Viv's workshops are always very popular but if you do fancy trying your hand at working with clay - there are still a couple tickets left for the Ceramic Wall Sconce Workshop on 17th October, 2-5.30pm.

In this fun, hands-on workshop participants will design and hand build a unique wall-mounted piece, exploring texture, pattern and form in clay. With guidance, you'll learn simple techniques to make a beautiful sconce to hang on your wall.

Perfect for beginners and those with some ceramic experience, this relaxed session encourages creativity and experimentation. Your finished piece will bring warmth, colour and character to any space.
