I remembered that when Lathan was around 2-5 years old, he had a special fondness for the color pink, specifically bubble gum pink.
His water bottle, backpack, stationery, sunglasses, and even some T-shirts were all pink.
Later on, I found out that Lathan inherited color blindness & color deficiency from my mother's side. My cousin, one of my cousins, and my younger brother (who is Lathan's uncle) also have it.
At the same time, it made me understand even more why our son loves the color pink so much. Apparently, in his world, that color is the most vibrant.
Although his world doesn't have as many colors as the ordinary world, he is very happy and content in his simplicity because he has never had them, so he doesn't even know what he's missing.
Speaking of bubble gum pink, it turns out that there was a prison in the United States that painted its walls with bubble gum pink in 1979 and noticed a significant decrease in violent and aggressive behavior. If you're interested in learning more, you can Google "Baker-Miller Pink."
