We are your Pavilion : donate, become a member, buy a ticket. We are a vibrant, versatile space in which we aim to cultivate talent, inspire creativity and provide opportunities for interactions between artists and audiences. We provide integrated cultural programmes that are accessible and relevant to the world in which we live. We encourage exploration, collaboration and innovation

by providing a venue where artists from different disciplines and audiences can meet, engage and share their thinking and ideas. Offering free access to exhibitions all year round, plus live performances, a dynamic learning and participation programme, indoor and outdoor events, and bespoke venue hire, we aim to live up to the name given to us by our audiences when we first opened – the People’s Pavilion. We believe that by putting artists and audiences at the heart of what we do, we can produce innovative and integrated cultural programmes that are accessible and relevant to today. We aim to create opportunities, drive aspirations and reflect the thinking and ideas of the world in which we live.

You might have noticed the scaffolding on the roof of the De La Warr Pavilion. As we begin our major building transformation project, An Icon for Everyone, hear from Stewart Drew, our Director and CEO, as he shares what we’ve been doing so far.

This is the first in our new series, Inside An Icon for Everyone. Watch the full episode now on our YouTube channel 👉 https://youtu.be/ikuh8CH0E4Y.

This project is made possible through De La Warr Pavilion’s partnership with Rother District Council and the generous support of the UK Government, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Wolfson Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, The Chalk Cliff Trust, Foyle Foundation, and Eddie Izzard.

Since we last closed our gallery doors, both spaces have been completely transformed for our upcoming exhibition, To Improvise A Mountain, curated by prolific painter Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.

With just one week to go until our opening party, our team of gallery technicians is busy unboxing and installing over 60 works by both historical and contemporary artists, alongside Lynette’s own.

It’s set to be an exciting few days at the Pavilion as the exhibition takes shape and the galleries are brought to life. We can’t wait for you to see the final result.

All are invited to join us for our opening party on Thursday 25 June from 6pm. Enjoy a midweek evening out, soak up the atmosphere with drinks, and explore the exhibition ahead of its public opening on Saturday 27 June.
