Some pictures (shashin) of the last Japanese Club before the lockdown... we refreshed on greetings, "hello, my name is...", bowing, learnt our numbers, hiragana practice, food!!!onigiri rice ball making championship and food do's and don'ts.

We had our first lesson at Japanese club last saturday.... we learnt how to introduce ourselves in Japanese, we learnt to write our names in katakana, we ate wasabi coated peas and senbei crackers, drank green tea while saying if we liked or disliked the taste in Japanese. We had a janken contest ( rock, paper, scissors) in Japanese. Great fun. We learnt a bit about Samurai and ninja swords and daw a mini documentary about a master swordsmith. Then we discussed what core values a samurai and ninja might have held like honour, loyalty, dignity or intelligence and wrote those values in Japanese script (書道 ) with an ink stone and brushes on rice paper... awesome work. Looking forward to next week.
