🧵 AUTUMN TERM SEWING CLUB AT THE ART BUS!

After being so popular with the children every time we run a sewing workshop, Brockham Arts Club are delighted to be introducing a relaxed and creative term time sewing club where children can explore their imagination, learn new skills and make something they can be proud of.

Across the sessions, children will learn to use a sewing machine, practise hand sewing and explore a variety of textiles, fabrics and design techniques. Projects encourage creativity, concentration, patience and problem-solving, while giving children the freedom to develop their own ideas.

What a fantastic end to our first week of Summer Art Workshops! ☀️🎨

From Moana, seaside and Minecraft creations to an epic spray painting session with our special guest, local artist brilliant guy Uncle Stubble 2 – it's been an amazing start to the summer. Thanks for joining us! 🙌

Today’s workshop was inspired by The Magic Faraway Tree (my daughter’s favourite book). It reminded us that you don’t have to travel far to find a little magic.

This morning, the children discovered a tiny mole with an injured bottom outside the Art Bus, which Ronald Emanation very kindly took to Wildlife Aid! We hope it’s on the mend soon. It felt like a fitting little visitor, they remind us to stay connected to the earth and centred in chaotic times.

The more time we spend at , the more we notice. A deer recently stopped to watch a yoga class. When I’m setting up trails early in the morning, I hear red kites calling from the trees. I’ve never realised that geese and rabbits happily share the same spaces, but here they often do.

In a world where so much competes for our attention, it’s been a joy to watch the children slow down and become absorbed by the wonders around them. The magic isn’t hidden in another land…it’s right here, if we take the time to notice.

Thank you to the wonderful children from Micklefield School for another magical day. Looking forward to a summer full of adventures ✨
