🎮 Get creative with BFMAF and Berwick Fringe Festival in our Gaming Music DJ Workshop.

⏰ 1:00pm

You'll get creative making old-school fuzzy 8-bit style chip-tunes, as well as learning all about legendary video game composers like Yoko Shimomura (Street Fighter II, Kingdom Hearts), Lena Raine (Celeste, Minecraft), or Toby Fox (Undertale, DeltaRune), before finishing up with a video game DJ set.

No musical or gaming experience is needed!

Fringe wristbands are just £6, with every penny going directly to supporting the brilliant bands and musicians taking part across the weekend.

• Starting With a Gesture Made Towards One Another • is the first public presentation of the Distribution collection—now open to wider audiences through a newly commissioned online catalogue by those.tools.

💡 Backed by BFI Screen Heritage Fund, the collection spans 1915–2005, featuring experimental films, documentaries, and narratives exploring gender, race, community, and more. The updated website includes new texts by Remi Graves, Khairani Barokka, Samira Makki, linking historic works to today’s conversations.

Join us for the first Berwick Open Studios - an exciting new event celebrating the many studios, cultural hubs, talented artists and makers in Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Over two weekends venues will open their doors, offering a rare chance to catch a glimpse into the working world of artists and designer-makers. Alongside this amazing array, we'll be open with our next Film Library exhibition at 22 Bridge Street, which we'll be announcing next month - stay tuned!

Berwick Open Studios 2026 is delivered by Create Berwick, with funding from Northumberland County Council & North East Mayoral Strategic Authority.

The Burr of Berwick’s latest interactive film library 🌐 Jabberwocky: The Internet and Creative Freedom 🌐 is now open until 18 July, and we have some informal Make & Meet workshops coming your way…

The first workshop the Film Library will be hosting is Jabberwocky: Internet Survival Guide - your chance to take charge of a world wide web of creativity! Join us to find the creative and fun things you want without being spied on, scammed and left in a doomscroll.

Led by our tech-savvy young artist-in-residence, we’ll be using free online tools and software, offering hints and tips for navigating the world wide web safely and creatively.

Jabberwocky: The Internet and Creative Freedom has been devised in collaboration with our tech-savvy Young Artist-in-Residence Dennie. The Film Library at 22 Bridge Street includes an interactive exhibition of games and opportunities to follow online rabbit-holes, alongside Saturday Make & Meet workshops that will help you reclaim the internet as a creative space for self-expression and exploration. Bridge the gap between IRL and URL – come along and bring your online creations to life!
