Have you heard of milk glass?
Unlike clear or transparent sea glass, this opaque milk glass has been produced since the 16th century in Venice but became popular during the Victorian era in the UK, when it was used for everything from tableware and vases to cosmetic jars and decorative ornaments.
I love finding pieces of milk glass along the coastline. Most pieces are white (hence the name) but it's the other pastel coloured pieces that I like so don’t actually have any whites in my collection! This beautiful soft turquoise piece had such a lovely shape, I just had to set it in sterling silver to create this one of a kind ring.

Available now at Puddles Gift Shop, Berwick-upon-Tweed.

I love working with ancient fossils ✨ This commissioned pendant features my customer’s own crinoid fossil, and I think their choice of patinated silver complements its age and texture perfectly.

🌊Ocean Love Pendant🌊

This piece is special to me as it was the very first design idea brought to life in wax, just over two years ago. There’s something magical about watching a sketch turn into wax… and then into solid silver 🤍

I loved it so much that I had a mould made, so more people could wear it, and you have! It’s quietly become a staple in every season, but with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it felt like the perfect time to share it again.

Each Ocean Love Pendant is securely attached to a medium weight belcher chain, fastens with a lobster clasp, and is officially hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.

Inspired by the sea, made to last and
available now on my website.

✨ Greener Berwick Repair Café ✨
📍 53 Salvation Army Church
⏰ Saturday 31st Jan 10am–1pm

I’ll be there tomorrow from 10–12, volunteering as I do once a month (and have done for over a year). Just a little note: I only offer repairs at the Repair Café, not outside of it.
How it works:
🛠 Bring up to two items to be fixed – sewing, IT, electrical, mechanical, blade sharpening, jewellery & more.
⏳ It’s first come, first served, so arrive early. Last repairs are taken at 12.30.
💚 Repairs are free, with donations to the Repair Café very welcome.
What I repair:
I mainly work on beaded and costume jewellery: restringing, replacing catches, and simple fixes. Often you’ll be invited to help, because many of these repairs are surprisingly easy to learn. I only do cold fixes (no soldering), but I’m always happy to point you towards great local jewellers for more complex work.
What I love most? The stories. Beautiful pieces often with little monetary value but huge sentimental meaning. Treasures that have sat in drawers for decades. Seeing someone walk out wearing their special jewellery again honestly means everything ✨
☕️ There’s always tea, coffee, and the most delicious cakes from
♻️ A brilliant ethos too - reducing landfill, repairing instead of replacing, and sharing skills.
Hope to see you there 💚

What better way to invest in silver than to wear it every day, while supporting small business and craftsmanship 🤍
These chunky, molten, solid silver bangles have been individually hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office and are made to last a lifetime.
Each one is made from recycled sterling silver, melted down and poured by hand into a shape carved in a charcoal block. The result? Soft, organic curves that can’t be replicated, each one completely unique and handmade in my studio from start to finish (apart from the hallmarking!)
Newly listed on my Cowrie Craft website.

So nice to see the sun today so had to grab the chance to get some photos of some unlisted pieces down on the beach. Found some Copeland & Garrettpottery too from around 1840!

It's wild! 🤯 and the reason I've had to make a few changes going forward. I talk more about it in my newsletter which was emailed out last night. If you haven't subscribed to it, just find me on substack (I'll put a link on my stories) where you can read it too.

Back on the beach but my head's still in Japan as I'm picking up pebbles that remind me of Mount Fuji! Look out for use of my Fuji washi tape in any orders you make though 😉

Squashing a 3 week trip to Japan into 20 photos isn't easy! 🤣We had an amazing time though visiting family in Tokyo who came skiing with us in Nagano. Then did a road trip back to Tokyo visiting Kanazawa, Takayama and Mount Fuji. Lots of magic memories made 🥰

Cowrie Craft Etsy and website are open for orders again. It might just take me a wee while to get back in the studio! Hope everyone's year has got off to a good start xx
