Loco & Reckless Productions Presents: The Mikel Murfi Trilogy

The Man In The Woman's Shoes, the first show of Mikel Murfi’s award-winning trilogy, returns to the HomePlace stage on Thursday 25th June.

Funny, tender and beautifully observed, this one-man show, written and directed by Mikel Murfi, has extensively toured Ireland since 2012 and played to packed houses at New York’s Irish Arts, London’s Tricycle Theatre and Dublin’s Abbey Theatre.

Set in Ireland in October 1978, The Man In The Woman’s Shoes follows the life of cobbler Pat Farnon. He lives on his own, contentedly aging in the cottage in which he was reared. Join him as he walks the five miles into town in a pair of women’s flats, wearing them in for a customer, on whom he has an overwhelming crush the vociferous football coach Kitsy Rainey.

“Astonishing...this is a high-top performance.” New York Times Critic’s Pick

“A miniature masterpiece” The Times, London

“Extraordinary physical performance... sharp observational comedy” The Sunday Times

This acclaimed tour de force performance by one of Ireland’s leading actors continues with I Hear You and Rejoice on Friday 26th June and The Mysterious Case of Kitsy Rainey on Saturday 27th June. Though the trilogy can be taken as a whole, all three shows can be experienced as vital standalone works.
