We kept two places remaining for EU OR UK residents — July 2026 Painting Holiday in Ireland

The group is almost full. I'm looking for two more painters — from the UK or Ireland — to join us this July in the wild north of Ireland.

This is not a large event. It's a small, guided painting holiday led by a working Irish artist with forty years in the landscape.

We paint on the coast and in the Mourne mountain region of the north of Ireland — dramatic, largely undiscovered, and unlike anywhere else on this island. The kind of landscape that hasn't been painted to death.

No experience necessary. Just a love of painting and a willingness to stand in a beautiful place and look properly at it.

Canvas panels. A simple palette. You fly home with finished paintings.

“Hugh’s workshop in Ireland was wonderful. He organized everything and looked after us all with great attention. We had a great time painting all day, every day with him. He shows you how to put on the paint confidently and how to ‘look’ at the values and cool/warm areas of your painting, which is always difficult to see, and the most important part of a good painting. I learnt a lot with Hugh, he pushed me to paint larger canvases with bigger brushes, mixing all colors! Hugh’s style is very loose and vibrant, which is why I chose to take a course with him.”
