Bold Girls, 2026. Sold out, twice, a team that just jumped on board despite everything , funding issues, technical challenges and debates over food acting (Caroline Curran knows) Throw a heatwave and some riots in just for the craic!
This production, exceeded everything I thought it would.
12 years ago, in the studio 2 The Lir Academy I discovered this play and I knew it would be welcome in Belfast. We got there. June 2026 and we opened to riots, burning streets, rain, road blocks, everything the play describes, except happening in modern times, but with a brilliant supportive company at the helm, and the defiance of Lyric Theatre Belfast - Bold Girls by Rona Munro, made its return to Belfast.
An enormous thank you, to, all who donated to the crowdfunder, bought tickets, did both, sent flowers and cards and those who believed. To Michael, To all the backstage team, led by Rae, and featuring Emma, Molly Rose and Ollie, to Phil and crew, to Mya and Jessie, to Philip Rafferty, to Becky, Becca and Jayden. To our hero, Rachael Harriott, and ultimately , To Caroline, Annie and Mairead and HannahâŚ. better known as the âBold Girlsâ
