It seems I have lots of new visits to my Sound Advice fb page, not because I’m busy installing sound and video equipment in a couple of churches in Belfast, but because someone has opened a music store of the same name dealing in vinyl records. Since I’ve been supplying good gear, advice and training for over 30 years now as Sound Advice, sound systems consultancy, I hope you don’t mind if I just ignore the newbie’s borrowing my name.

Current project management of refurbishment of main auditorium in City Church Belfast. Phase 1. Vaulted ceiling insulation and sheeting. Painting roof, steel trusses, walls and panelling. Removal of old fluorescent lighting and refitting of LED battens. Design, source and install kitchen coffee bar serving area. Re-wire sound system after decorating and ceiling works. Prepare for livestream and limited audience use in September.

I was watching the Good Vibrations movie earlier this week, and then today I found this old leaflet advertising our Studio on Stoney Rd., from 1983, and got to thinking about all the young guys from Belfast Punk bands that we had through the doors. We had the ex-Police desk that recorded two of their hit albums, the 3m 24track machine that was used for Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', and all sorts of good gear. Nowadays I have more capacity inside my Macbook! Tsk, how things have changed!
