Susan has recently played the roles of squealer and others in Animal Farm with Tinderbox at the MAC.

When asked what excited Susan about Friend of Dorothy, she said:

"The fact that people will get to know who Kent Warner was. I'm always here for a q***r story. What I love about Gillian's take is we get to follow him on an adventure in death to figure who he was."

In a dusty warehouse attic, on an old movie lot, Kent Warner became the first person in 30 years to set eyes on the ruby slippers of Oz...

With that red sparkle in a sunbeam, Kent's life, and the future of Hollywood, was to change forever. In a life of contradiction - stealing costumes in order to save them, partying and working equally hard, gathering loyal friends and fierce enemies - Kent himself is a forgotten but pivotal part of Hollywood history.

Friend of Dorothy remembers the man, not just the shoes.

This rehearsed reading is supported by Patchwork Productions and promises an unforgettable evening of new writing presented by the best emerging local talent.
