We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paddy Keenan, one of the great figures of Irish traditional music and an extraordinary uilleann piper.

Earlier this year, Paddy was the recipient of our 2026 ANAM Award, recognising his remarkable contribution to Irish traditional music. We feel especially grateful that we had the opportunity to honour and celebrate that contribution during his lifetime.

Paddy leaves an extraordinary musical legacy, one that has influenced generations of musicians and will continue to do so for generations to come.

We send our deepest condolences to Paddy’s family, friends and all who loved him, with particular thoughts for Chris Keenan at this very sad time.
