Irish Cup Final

I completed this work of Marcus Kane of Glentoran after they had won the Irish Cup. My intention was to raffle the painting to raise money for Marcus charity. He was raising money for the Children's Hospital. In the end a very generous offer was made and the buyer asked to give it to Marcus personally.
The image was from a photograph taken on the night. The photographer gave me permission to use his image.

I am profoundly inspired by nature, particularly flowers, plants, and flowing lines found in organic forms such as clematis and other climbing vines. I love incorporating and emphasising these curvilinear forms, and natural motifs into my work to connote harmony and connection, thing I value in my personal life. This piece in particular was an experiment in merging modern fashion photography with the art nouveau style.

I am an amateur artist who embarked on the Northern Regional Colleges' Level Three Art and Design Practice course in 2023, where I was introduced to the works of Aubrey Beardsley and Alphonse Mucha. I have since developed an interest in the Art Nouveau style, and have begun to explore the use of pen and ink to create my own interpretations of this movement. 'Clarissa' is the first piece to be completed in this style and medium and as a result, she is a strong starting point for a series of works. I am still learning and growing as an artist and am eager to find where this path leads me, all while enjoying the journey and at the same time continuing with my education.

This painting came at a time when I was couch surfing and my welcome at the last place I could find a friend to put me up was wearing very thin. I had nowhere to go but I couldn't stay there; my options - like everything else - had 'Run Dry'

25 years ago l give this piece to my good friend Charlie he has passed over now but that piece hung on his wall and is still there. We were both interested in Irish folk lore and the fairies , this piece is a entrance to a fairy fort, in the Glen's of county Antrim. A once in a lifetime view.
