Last Thursday we kicked off the first of our Stories Network sessions, bringing together some of the Community Grants project teams to share their plans and ideas.

There are many interesting stories waiting to be told during this first phase of story gathering, and we’re looking forward to seeing how these projects develop, the impact they make, and the stories that emerge along the way.

What started out as a few conversations in Carrick Hill Community Centre resident’s association has grown into a remarkable collection of local stories from local people.

Over the past year, Nerve Centre in partnership with Belfast Stories worked with Carrick Hill resident’s association to rescue decades of archive footage from old VHS tapes and cassettes that might otherwise have been lost forever.

The best people to tell the story of Carrick Hill are the people who call it home and the archive can now be explored through a free interactive touchscreen in the community centre and it is accessible for everyone to enjoy and learn from.
