INTRODUCING CULT ARTIST: EMANUELA MAE AGRINI

Emanuela Mae Agrini was born in Genoa in 1981, studied art and archaeology, and eventually traded ancient ruins for the quiet shadows and vivid colours of portraiture.

After years away from the studio, she picked up her brushes again in Belfast, where the grey skies seemed to stir something back to life. Her work drifts between dream and reality - expressionist, patterned, and wrapped in colour - seeking not just a likeness, but the atmosphere of a person.

Whether in oil or soft pastels, her portraits are an attempt to hold onto something fleeting: presence, style, mood, and the strange beauty of being seen.

Ready to shake up your sketchbook?

Our next life drawing session lands Sunday 7 Sept, and it’s going to be quite unique! We’ll be drawing the n**e figure surrounded by mirrors 👉 think reflections, distortions, double angles, and wild compositions. It’s you, the model, and a whole lot of visual play!

⏰ 4–6 PM
📍 Pigment Space, 54A Sunnyside Street, Belfast

Short poses, long poses, and light tutoring if you want a nudge in the right direction. Total beginners welcome. Returning sketchers...you know the drill: bring your fave tools or use what’s in the studio
