We love this!
As it’s Place2Be ‘s children's mental health week, we thought we’d share some of our top tips for practicing mindfulness at home with your children. First up, is how to help your child focus.
We always want children to focus, but we rarely show them how. Encouraging them to slow down and bring their attention to the ‘self’ is the best way to help them get ready for the task at hand. It's about stepping back, clearing the mind and planning how to complete a task rather than simply rushing in.
Putting it in to practice - An exercise to try with your children:
• With your child, breath in and breath out silently five times. Each time asking the child to empty their brain / mind.
• Breath in and breath out blowing a raspberry
• Breath in and breath out and give a roar
• Ask how that makes the child feel, has it helped them to clear their mind and focus?
We hope this helps. Give it a try and let us you how you and your child felt afterward! We will be posting more top tips in the following week. Please like, share and help us spread the word about
