🎉 THAT'S A WRAP ON LUTON FESTIVAL OF DANCE 2026! 🎉

After 3 wonderful, full-on weekends, we have officially said farewell to our 2026 festival — and what an incredible one it has been! 💛

We have absolutely loved watching every single one of your superstars light up the stage and create memories that will last a lifetime. You should all be incredibly proud! 🌟

This year brings with it some bittersweet goodbyes. We want to give the most heartfelt and enormous thank you to the incredible Lynne and Lou, who have given so much of themselves to this festival over the years. Luton Festival of Dance would not be what it is today without everything you have both contributed, and it is truly impossible to imagine it without you. You will be missed more than words can say — thank you for absolutely everything. We are so grateful for you both! 💛🌹

🌟 JOIN THE LUTON FESTIVAL OF DANCE COMMITTEE! 🌟

Are you passionate about dance and looking for a meaningful way to get involved with our wonderful festival community? We have an exciting opportunity for you! 💛

As many of you know, our festival is run entirely by a small but mighty volunteer committee — and we need YOU to help us keep the magic alive! We currently have vacancies for new committee members and would love to welcome some fresh faces to our team!

👥 WHO WE ARE

We are a dedicated team of volunteers — all of whom have full time jobs and many with dancers who compete in the festival themselves! We are passionate about dance and about providing the best possible experience for every single performer who comes through our doors. This year we are sad to be saying goodbye to two of our much loved committee members, which means we are looking for at least 2 new members to join our team.

⚠️ WE NEED YOU — MORE THAN EVER ⚠️

We want to be open and honest with you all — we would be absolutely devastated for this to be the last Luton Festival of Dance, and without new committee members joining us, that could sadly become a reality. This festival has been a cornerstone of the dance community for 50 years and we are determined to keep it going — but we simply cannot do it without more hands on deck. If you have ever thought about getting involved, now is the time. 🙏

📋 WHAT'S INVOLVED?

🗓️ Throughout the Year
Bi-monthly online or in-person meetings to plan and prepare for the festival as a committee.

🎭 During the Festival (3 Weeks in March)
This is where the magic happens! Our committee members are on hand throughout the festival to help things run smoothly. Roles and duties include:
✔️ Setting up the venue ahead of the festival
✔️ Checking in dancers on arrival
✔️ Selling programmes, entry tickets and medals
✔️ Updating the All England Dance system with results
✔️ Distributing marking sheets to dance schools
✔️ Scribing for the adjudicator
✔️ Playing music for performers
✔️ Announcing dancers
✔️ Backstage running
✔️ Door entry
✔️ Assisting with catering, including preparing easy lunches and baking sweet treats for breaks! 🍰

No single person does everything — we work together as a team and share the load! 💪

Being part of the Luton Festival of Dance committee is an incredibly rewarding experience. You will be playing a vital role in creating unforgettable memories for hundreds of young dancers and their families. You will also become part of a close-knit, supportive and fun team who work hard but have a great time doing it!
