🍟🍻 ONE LAST REMINDER… FISH & CHIPS THIS FRIDAY! 🍻🍟

Just in case you needed an excuse to avoid cooking on Friday… The Fish & Chip Van will be at Keysoe Village Hall from 6.30–7.30pm 🍟🐟

We’re sharing the van with our friends over in Thurleigh, so it will be at Thurleigh Sports & Social Club for about an hour before heading over to us.

And there’s more…

🍻 The bar at Keysoe Village Hall will be open from 6pm!

So come along, grab a drink, order your dinner and say hi!
🎪 And if you’re feeling particularly energetic, you could even help us pitch a marquee for the Village Show! 😂

🥓🐴🎪🍟 BACON SARNIES, PONIES & FISH & CHIPS… IT MUST BE SHOW WEEK! 🍟🐴🎪🥓
Only a few more sleeps until the Keysoe Village Show and there is STILL lots to do… and a few more exciting things to tell you! 🎉

First up… FRIDAY HELP NEEDED! 🙌�We’d love a few extra pairs of hands on Friday afternoon/early evening (from about 4 if possible) to help us get the marquees up. Many hands really do make light work — and the quicker we get them up, the quicker we can get to the important stuff… 😋

🍟 FISH & CHIPS!�The Fish & Chip van will be joining us from 6.30pm on Friday — so once the marquees are up we can grab dinner! And the bar will be open from 6pm 🍻 (Open to everyone in the villages)

Then on SATURDAY MORNING… BREAKFAST IS SORTED! 🥓☕️
We’ll have bacon sarnies being made during entry drop-off, so no need to worry about breakfast. Bring your entries, grab a bacon butty and get yourself ready for show day! 🌭😂 📍 Find us at Keysoe Village Hall – MK44 2JE

📸 Village Show Countdown – Crafts & Photography! 🧶📷
So… if your cucumbers are well and truly over, your beans are approximately 2cm long, and baking really isn’t your thing… 😂

But crafts and photography? Now we’re talking! 🙌
For the photographers, we’ve got some great classes this year, including two new ones…
🖤 Black & White Images – dramatic, moody, simple or striking… anything goes!
💧 Water Images – and there’s plenty of room for interpretation here. Crashing waves, raindrops, reflections, a droplet balanced on a flower petal… let your imagination take you wherever it wants to go.

And then there are the Craft Classes… where there really is something for almost everyone!
🧵 Needlework 🧶 Crochet and knitting�✂️ Papercraft and greetings cards 💍 Jewellery made from any medium – silver wire, polymer clay, silver clay, beads, cord, plastic, resin… whatever takes your fancy!�♻️ And, of course, something recycled.
Or for anything else - there’s always the Open Class!

And finally - the Creative Wreath class… 🌟
Create a 40cm wreath from absolutely anything you like… with just one rule – no real or artificial flowers!
Previous entries have included dog bones, pegs, art supplies, gonks and feathers… so this is definitely the class to let your imagination run completely wild! 😂

So put down the tiny beans, forget about the cucumbers and dig out your camera, knitting needles, glue gun or jewellery tools…
There’s still plenty of time to get creative! 🎨📸🏆

📦 Village Show Countdown… and this is a good one! 😄 (Perfect for the bank holiday weekend)

BRAND NEW for the kids this year… it’s the MATCHBOX CHALLENGE! 🎉
Open to anyone 16 years and under, the challenge is simple…

👉 How many different things can you fit into a standard-sized matchbox?!
Time to start searching for the teeny weeny, tiny things hiding around the house! 🔍😂 Buttons, beads, tiny toys, little treasures… what can you find?

There are just a couple of rules…
📦 The lid must be able to shut smoothly.
🤢 And absolutely NO YUKKY things! That means no toenails, no dead creatures and definitely nothing horrible lurking at the bottom of the garden! 😂
So get searching, collecting and filling that matchbox…
The question is… how many tiny treasures can YOU squeeze in?! 👀📦🏆

🎉 EXCITING NEWS … AND ANOTHER FIRST FOR THIS YEAR! 🎉

We’ve only gone and managed to get the Pop-Up Fish & Chip Van to come along to the Village Hall car park on Friday 4th September! 🐟🍟

They’ll be with us from around 6.30–7.30pm — and it’s not just for the fantastic bunch helping us set up for the Village Show… it’s for EVERYONE! 🙌

So, if you fancy a bonus takeaway dinner, come along, grab your fish & chips.

Oh… and one more thing… THE BAR WILL BE OPEN! 🍻🥂

So, if you would like to, why not stay and enjoy your supper over a drink from the bar.

🚜 TRACTORS!! Calling all tractors to the Keysoe Village Show! 🚜

After being such a huge hit last year with the kids… and, if I’m honest, pretty much everyone else too! 😂… we’re hoping to have even more tractors joining us this year.
Big or small (although maybe not too big! 😆), we’d love you to bring them along and add to the tractor collection!

And it’s not just tractors… Land Rovers and classic cars are very welcome too. 🚙✨

But new for this year, we have a class especially for the tractors…

🏆 Class 85 – Best Dressed Tractor! 🏆
Completely optional of course… but if you fancy giving your tractor a little makeover, then go for it! Lights, hats, bows, bunting… whatever takes your fancy. The more imagination, the better! 🎩🎀✨

I have absolutely no idea what to expect… which makes it even more exciting 😂
So whether your tractor is big, small, vintage, shiny, muddy or dressed up to the nines… bring it along!

I cannot wait to see them all! 🚜🏆

🥮 The Village Show countdown continues… and this one is for all the bakers! 🍰

We have a brand new class this year – The Keysoe Classic! 🎉
A lovely fruit cake which we’re hoping might become a regular favourite at the Keysoe Village Show for years to come. So why not have a little practice run… purely for research purposes, obviously! 😋
The recipe is below if you’d like to get prepared, perfect your technique and make sure you’ve got room for just one more slice!

Your finished Keysoe Classic should be presented on a 10” paper plate, which will be provided by the show.

And there’s more for the bakers too… 🥧🍋
This year we have a Blackberry & Apple Pie and Lemon Drizzle Cake. But there’s a twist this year – you can use your own favourite recipe for both!

We thought we’d make the judges’ job just a little bit tougher… 😉🍰

And for those who prefer something savoury… we have a Tear & Share Bread class too. (picture from last year) Again, it’s completely up to you what you make and which ingredients you use.
So whether you’re a fruit cake traditionalist, a lemon drizzle expert, a pie perfectionist or a bread-making genius… it’s time to get baking! 🧁🥖🥧
