What a brilliant weekend! Newark Knitting and Wool Show

First ever Newark Knitting and wool show and what a wonderful event it’s been thanks to Nick, Natasha (and their team), fellow vendors and of course all the lovely visitors!

I’ve talked so much, hopefully helped several sock knitters by sharing some hints and tips and encouraged new sock knitters to take a step into the world of hand knit socks.
I even got back on a knitting machine, thanks to the Knitting and Crochet Guild. My Uni days came flooding back to me ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came over to our stand and said hello, fell in love with my socks and project bags. Love to my fellow vendors and great company Super Effective Fibres Shannon Long and Hayley/Duckydarlings Hand dyed yarns.

Country Home Socks - night time colour version are finished and off of the needles. I love seeing how different a pattern looks when you change the colours.

Pattern - Country Home Socks by me 😊
Yarn - mini skeins from Shannon Long Stonewash, After Dark, Flax and Dove
Needles - 2.5mm Chiaogoo 9” circular, used DPNs for heel and toe.

Another sock has already been cast on, obviously!

Sole Spirit Socks - pattern release today! 👻

It’s September and with the new month and start of Autumn here is my latest pattern release. Sole Spirit is a cuff down knitted sock featuring ghosts and a graphic monochrome geometric design. This unisex sock will be a great addition to your hand knit sock collection and follows previous designs Trick or Feet and Pumpkin Harvest.

For this design I collaborated and used yarn from Charley from Charley D | Indie Yarn Dyer their Plush sock base was gorgeous to work with 85% Extra fine Superwash Merino and 15% Nylon.

Use code BOO2026 on Ravelry or Etsy for 20% off of this new pattern or patterns - Pumpkin Harvest and Trick or Feet - valid until 4 Sept 2026.

Thank you for a wonderful weekend at Southern Wool Show🐑 - appreciate everyone who came over and said hello, couldn’t decide on which print they liked best, squished socks (and let me ramble on about them) and made a purchase ❤️

Springtide ~ pattern now available on Ravelry and Etsy and 20% off of downloads this weekend (no code needed).

These socks are best knitted in bright, fun and high contrast colours perfect for a dopamine hit! The waves, curves and bold lines create movement and energy.

First published in Laine magazine issue 28 and now available as a stand alone pattern to download. It was such an honour to work with Laine magazine again and shout out to the amazing group of test knitters who worked with me ❤️

Original socks as photographed for the magazine issue were knitting in Cascade Heritage shades Highlighter Tangelo and Chanterelle Cascade Yarns

I enjoyed knitting up another sample last week in beautiful hand dyed yarn from my friend Shannon Shannon Long shades Sea Urchin and Logwood.

Happy stitchers!
It’s been a very busy few weeks and things aren’t slowing down… vending at 3 yarn shows over the school holidays might not have been my best idea 😬

Anyway this has been my knitting focus each evening over the last week now my Halloween design for this year is done (more on that soon) and all magazine designs are with the editors.

Project bag 1 - YAY! finished Springtide socks, beautiful yarn from Shannon Long and this pair is being put aside for an exciting collaboration in October!

Project bag 2 - Country Home socks, in nighttime colours, I cast on the second sock the second I finished the first to avoid second sock syndrome but not got very far yet 🙈Mini skeins also from lovely Shannon Shannon Long

Project bag 3 - New design for Christmas using stunning yarn from Nicola & Louise
