More unexpected news….my Glug jug drawing has been accepted by Ann Kullberg’s Color Magazine, to be published in their June edition.

I’m involved in my local Women’s Institute (WI) craft group. We are working on a textile wall hanging, celebrating Southsea. We have a local, but internationally renowned street artist - My Dog Sighs. Please look him up, his work is incredible. Each iris has a special image in it, a person or a place.

I chose to have a go embroidering it. Not one of my greatest talents, but happy with the outcome. Can’t wait for it to be part of the wall hanging. It’s great fun trying new skills.

I’ve had a wonderful 24 hours in London this week.

We attended the Private view on Tuesday evening. So proud of my 3 drawings accepted for the exhibition.

I returned on Wednesday to demonstrate the joys of coloured pencils. Had a fab morning chatting to many very interested visitors.

My sons came to visit too, perfect.

I could never have imagined this 6 years ago, when I started my journey….

Fun couple of hours, just playing with my oil paints.

I’m very much at the beginning of my oil painting journey. There is lots to learn/ experience, so each painting teaches me something. It’s also very different to my coloured pencils, one being that I have to leave it to dry between layers.

The grass was very scary…..Will return to it next week

Thought I’d share details of the exhibition I have been accepted to exhibit at, next month in London.

I have 3 drawings being exhibited, and I am going to be there on Wed 18th March, doing a small demo!

Won’t be sharing my drawings until after the Private View on Tuesday 17th March

Feeling pretty proud of myself!

Received email last night informing me that all 3 of my entries have been accepted for the UK Colour Pencil Society exhibition, at the Mall Galleries, London in March. I entered 3, in the vain hope, one might be selected, gobsmacked all 3 accepted!

I only picked up a pencil at the beginning of Lockdown. Can’t believe this has been the result.

Can’t share which drawings they are yet….but no dogs/ horses involved 😂

Got a Black Friday bargain for an online oil painting course.

First session. Completed in 90 mins, meant to be low detail, learning about colour mixing & how my new brushes work!

Nice to have a short practice piece,unlike my pencils!
