Rainy day here in Devon, kinda wish my had a shave stable!! Making these little rustic stools for our at South West Bushcraft & Outdoor Show this weekend. We'll be joining forces with Wylde Hearth indigenous skills and learning. to offer a wide range of bushcraft and foraging workshops!

Riving logs is quickly becoming my favourite thing! Some wavy grain in the Maple boards, but the ash quarters are beautifully straight. This lot will eventually become a couple of rustic stools!

And just as I finished making up the third round of spoon blanks for carving workshops, this little lot arrived! More maple, and a few logs of gorgeous cherry! I'd better get the axe back out and get chopping! 🥄🪓👌

7 months ago I hand split some ash to make an axe handle, the handle crafted with only hand tools.
Today I split logs with it with a huge sense of satisfaction.
