Tadley & Baughurst Art Club

Tadley & Baughurst Art Club TABAC members meet Tuesday mornings to enjoy each others company while working on their own art.

We are a small friendly group meeting twice a week on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 to 12.30 and Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, and you can come to either or both of these sessions. We meet at The Link in Tadley Community Centre, Newchurch Road - in the Beavers Room which is bright and spacious. Our members work on their own projects in a wide range of styles and mediums, with help and encoura

gement from each other. While we do not provide formal tuition on a regular basis, we hold occasional demonstrations and workshops and several of our more experienced members are always willing to guide newer members.

After a fantastic exhibition with wonderful paintings, great food & glorious singing, we're now back to earth with our latest monthly competition.

May's theme was 'Rooftops'. We thought this would be a hard topic but we had eleven entries. They were all good and, as always, it was a difficult choice choosing a winner.

This month was won by Ian with painting J.

Second was Nicola S with painting B and third was Ruth with painting A.

Well done to the winner and runners up and to everyone who entered.

At our annual exhibition we ask our visitors to vote for their favourite work and this year it was a very close result but in the end, it was Andrea Lawson who was ahead with her painting β€œDock at the bay”.

Here is Andrea with her painting and trophy, which she gets to keep until next year.
Well done! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Following on from our voting for February's theme, yesterday was also our AGM. Every year at the AGM we hand over a trophy to the artist who has won the most votes throughout the year.

Once again it was a very close call; there have been such high quality paintings entered throughout the year.

The photo shows last year's winner, Sue (left), handing over the trophy to this year's worthy winner, Barbara (right).

Well done, Barbara, and to everyone who has entered throughout the year.

Last year was TABAC's Ruby Jubilee and we still have a few members who started the club 40 years ago. I'm sure they've seen many changes and many faces come and go over the years. The success of the club is demonstrated in the fact that our Tuesday mornings are full of fun, chatting, laughter and art, with a wide variety of painting styles and mediums, with many people willing to help those who are only now starting out on their painting journeys.

To reflect TABAC's anniversary, our February competition was '40th Anniversary' and the quality of entries, as always, was excellent. The entries were as follows:

A - Nicola M.
B - Ruth
C - Ian
D - Sarah
E - Sue
F - Barbara

But, there has to be a winner and that winner was Barbara, entry F.

In second place was entry D, Sarah. Third was a draw between entries A & D, Nicola M. and Ian.

Congratulations to the winner and runners up and to everyone who took part. It was a hard task picking a winner and the votes were close.

Here we are again, on a wet Tuesday, voting for our latest competition theme, Agatha Christie, who died in 1976, the year we had the very hot summer, for those who remember it!

We were treated to 7 lovely paintings. It was so hard to choose which to vote for. They all deserved a point. But, a winner there has to be and this month's honour went to Ian, with Sue a close second & Barbara a close third.

The paintings were as follows:

A Brian
B Ian
C Barbara
D Sarah
E Sue
F Pam
G Noelle

Well done to everyone who entered. Next month's theme is based on the anniversary of the club's founding & is titled '40th Anniversary'.
