Tadley & Baughurst Art Club

Tadley & Baughurst Art Club TABAC members meet Tuesday mornings to enjoy each others company while working on their own art.

We are a small friendly group meeting twice a week on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 to 12.30 and Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, and you can come to either or both of these sessions. We meet at The Link in Tadley Community Centre, Newchurch Road - in the Beavers Room which is bright and spacious. Our members work on their own projects in a wide range of styles and mediums, with help and encoura

gement from each other. While we do not provide formal tuition on a regular basis, we hold occasional demonstrations and workshops and several of our more experienced members are always willing to guide newer members.

Such a lovely day yesterday in Jenny's wonderful garden having our annual picnic under the shade of a group of trees. A big thank you to Jenny and Len, also, for the teas and coffees; so much appreciated.

It was also voting time for our July theme, which was 'American Independence'. We had some excellent paintings and all of them did well with the votes. Usually we have an art group vote and a 'public' vote because we often take partners or friends along but, since there were only 4 extras, an 'executive decision' was taken to have one vote only.

It isn't very often that every painting receives the top marks at least once but this happened yesterday, which tells you how good each painting was and how hard it was to choose a winner.

So, congratulations go to the winner of painting C, Ruth, with 2nd placed Mari (painting A) and 3rd placed Denise (painting D) close behind.

Like I said, everyone did really well and congratulations to all for entering your paintings for what was quite a hard topic.

Time flies when you're having fun & here we are already at our next monthly competition. With the theme of 'Wildflowers', so many people were inspired to paint some fabulous pictures.

The paintings were so good this month that we had joint winners. Congratulations go to Barbara for painting D and Mari for painting H. Judith D came in a close 3rd.

Well done to everyone who took part.

After a fantastic exhibition with wonderful paintings, great food & glorious singing, we're now back to earth with our latest monthly competition.

May's theme was 'Rooftops'. We thought this would be a hard topic but we had eleven entries. They were all good and, as always, it was a difficult choice choosing a winner.

This month was won by Ian with painting J.

Second was Nicola S with painting B and third was Ruth with painting A.

Well done to the winner and runners up and to everyone who entered.

At our annual exhibition we ask our visitors to vote for their favourite work and this year it was a very close result but in the end, it was Andrea Lawson who was ahead with her painting “Dock at the bay”.

Here is Andrea with her painting and trophy, which she gets to keep until next year.
Well done! 👏👏👏👏
