POV: You're 12, you've just misspelled your word, and the heartbreak is real. 💔

But perhaps some people are easier to lose to than others.

How good are the cast of Spelling Bee at ACTUAL spelling?

We put our first five spellers to the test with words inspired by their characters.

Some got tricky words.
Some got VERY tricky words.
And one of them got… well, you'll see.

Fair? Absolutely not. But then, neither is the Putnam County Spelling Bee.

How would you have done? We open in just TWO WEEKS! Dare you take them on?

WAIT… THERE’S AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION?!

Yes. But before you sink into your seat and avoid eye contact, nobody is getting dragged on stage. We promise.

Each performance, a few brave audience members get to join our spellers and compete in the Bee — entirely voluntarily.

Fancy it? Find Rona and her clipboard before the show and sign up.

Rather watch somebody else discover how hard spelling becomes when an entire audience is staring at you?

Sit back and enjoy the S-C-H-A-D-E-N-F-R-E-U-D-E.

Did you love Joseph at the Theatre Royal last week? (Silly question, we know!) Get rid of the post-Joseph blues by booking yourselves tickets to the next fabulous BODS production: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The show is a hilarious take on US spelling competitions and is guaranteed to make you chuckle.

And it's being directed by our P-H-A-R-A-O-H (not easy!) himself, Matthew Graham.
