Bath’s Theatre Royal is a beautiful building to draw and one of the oldest working theatres in the country. Built in 1805, it succeeded the 1750 Old Orchard Street Theatre and was the first Theatre Royal outside of London.

It was rebuilt and expanded after a severe fire in 1862 and continues to provide a varied programme today of top quality entertainment across three auditoria, with many shows opening here before transferring to London.

This past week has been a busy time drawing and painting several shops and properties linked to the client’s family in Astorga, Spain, including its celebrated Chocolate Museum. The medieval walled town is located on the crossroads of the Camino de Santiago pilgrim route and the Roman Silver Road and has an Episcopal Palace designed by modernist architect Antonio Gaudi.
