Introducing our new project… amplified@rw

We’re offering unsigned and grassroots artists from across the South West the chance to record their EP in our studios, fully funded, thanks to Arts Council England and Real World.

4-6 acts will spend 3-4 days with our in-house engineers across the Big Room, Wood Room and Red Room, recording an EP of their own songs, fully mixed and mastered by Real World engineers. They’ll also get mentoring from industry professionals on publishing, rights and release strategy, and the chance to perform live to an audience of record labels and A&R at an exclusive showcase at Real World.

No polished demo needed to apply – a voice note, a phone video, whatever shows us who you are.

If you’re based in the South West, unsigned, and ready to make something special, we want to hear from you. Applications close at 11:59pm on 9th September.

It's high time that we acknowledge the beautiful playing of sisters Mathangi and Sambavi Uthayakumar, whose parents are from Srilanka. They stepped in at very short notice when Jyotsna Srikanth was unable to attend our Tangled Roots Festival 2026. We were thrilled to retain the South Asian flavour to the festival. They were brilliantly accompanied by Agnij Purushothaman on mridangam.

Mathangi and Sambavi Uthayakumar are UK-born Carnatic vocalists and violinist sisters who are passionate about preserving and celebrating the rich musical heritage of South Indian classical music.

Alongside their friend Shashank, they are co-founders of Pranava UK, a rapidly growing community initiative dedicated to fostering a vibrant and positive community of Carnatic music enthusiasts through regular events and concerts across London and beyond.

Mathangi is a Chemistry graduate from King's College London and works as a secondary school teacher. Sambavi is a Physics graduate from Imperial College London. Both remain deeply committed to their musical journey and are proud to carry forward the Carnatic tradition alongside their careers.

🌾 Calling all traditional crafters & makers!
We're looking for stallholders rooted in seasonal and traditional crafts to join us at the Radford Mill Harvest Festival this autumn - the grand finale of our 50th anniversary year!

Whether you weave baskets, create natural dyes, make candles or keep bees, we'd love to have you with us. Demonstrations and drop-in workshops especially welcome!

After a couple of the girls working in the kitchen told me they’d heard me on the radio, I have taken courage and finally listened again to the Clare Carter show that BBC Radio Bristol invited me onto, the day before the festival… I am hugely grateful to Clare and her producer for the opportunity. Most of all I’m grateful to Angie Lemon PR for being the key catalyst in making it happen.
