At the weekend Richard’s fifty years of farming were celebrated with a candle for every decade and a cake made by Liz. Not only has he made the mill a very special place, and farmed the land organically, he was instrumental in the rise of the farmers markets across the country, after the one in Bath was such a success. This candle blowing was at the end of a long day otherwise celebrating the harvest. Richard doesn’t stop! Please put your hands together for him! We hope to see you next year at both Tangled Roots and Tangled Blues Festivals. News coming soon.

Join us during the day for live music, activities, food, stalls and lots to enjoy.
🌟 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
6pm - late
Then, as the evening begins, the celebrations continue with food, a bar, music, stories, memories and good company.

We are indebted to The Priston Music Festival for their support of our festival and Tangled up in Blues Festival. Even without their support we would still be recommending this wonderful music-filled village festival. Pay for the parking and/or make a donation: it's free!

The The Priston Music Festival 18 - 20th Sept. NEW POSTER - a few line-up changes.

It is unticketed! But it's £10 to park! Please car share. We have about 35 fab bands on 5 stages over the weekend. Our lineup compares well to various other small local festivals, which are ticketed at £60 - £80 or more!!. We draw upon the very vibrant Bristol and Bath music scenes and also the local villages around us. See the Festival YouTube channel for 100s of videos shot at the festival—and elsewhere—of bands who have played and will play this year. It is a small, intimate, magical little festival (we like to think!). Much of it is on hard ground around the Priston Village Hall and The Ring O Bells, so access and mobility is easy. There are bars and teas and stalls and lots of cool stuff for kids by Ecowild and others.

The festival is a charity, not-for-profit, volunteer-run. Any profit goes to village organisations such as the church and cricket club. See the festival website for all details. Priston is a small village near Bath. BA2 9EE. see https://www.priston.org.uk/festival/ for all details.

Your EP. Our studios. For free.

Introducing our new project… amplified@rw

We’re offering unsigned and grassroots artists from across the South West the chance to record their EP in our studios, fully funded, thanks to Arts Council England and Real World.

4-6 acts will spend 3-4 days with our in-house engineers across the Big Room, Wood Room and Red Room, recording an EP of their own songs, fully mixed and mastered by Real World engineers. They’ll also get mentoring from industry professionals on publishing, rights and release strategy, and the chance to perform live to an audience of record labels and A&R at an exclusive showcase at Real World.

No polished demo needed to apply – a voice note, a phone video, whatever shows us who you are.

If you’re based in the South West, unsigned, and ready to make something special, we want to hear from you. Applications close at 11:59pm on 9th September.

It's high time that we acknowledge the beautiful playing of sisters Mathangi and Sambavi Uthayakumar, whose parents are from Srilanka. They stepped in at very short notice when Jyotsna Srikanth was unable to attend our Tangled Roots Festival 2026. We were thrilled to retain the South Asian flavour to the festival. They were brilliantly accompanied by Agnij Purushothaman on mridangam.

Mathangi and Sambavi Uthayakumar are UK-born Carnatic vocalists and violinist sisters who are passionate about preserving and celebrating the rich musical heritage of South Indian classical music.

Alongside their friend Shashank, they are co-founders of Pranava UK, a rapidly growing community initiative dedicated to fostering a vibrant and positive community of Carnatic music enthusiasts through regular events and concerts across London and beyond.

Mathangi is a Chemistry graduate from King's College London and works as a secondary school teacher. Sambavi is a Physics graduate from Imperial College London. Both remain deeply committed to their musical journey and are proud to carry forward the Carnatic tradition alongside their careers.

We do have some video and a photo or two but sharing these first!

We're looking for stallholders rooted in seasonal and traditional crafts to join us at the Radford Mill Harvest Festival this autumn - the grand finale of our 50th anniversary year!

Whether you weave baskets, create natural dyes, make candles or keep bees, we'd love to have you with us. Demonstrations and drop-in workshops especially welcome!
