One Giant Leap Productions

One Giant Leap Productions One Giant Leap - a brand new not-for-profit theatre company, bringing you cracking productions to raise money for amazing charities. We don't bite...hard...

Founded this year by Louisa "Liza" Greenhalgh and Louise Heavey over a bottle of gingerbread rum and a shared love of the smell of greasepaint, One Giant Leap is a brand new theatre company based in the city of Bath. We intend to establish ourselves as a springboard for young artists (actors, directors, cameramen, make-up artists, set and lighting designers, seamstresses, writers...the list goes o

n!), providing much needed experience and portfolio material in an extremely competitive industry. All profits made on our productions will go to charity - our first play, 'Holmes & Watson: A Meeting of Minds', is for the benefit of Bath Mind. Any questions, queries, quotes or qualms - don't hesitate to get in touch with us!

Huge, enormous, comically large congratulations to our fantastic Nancy, Debz Machin, who has just been offered a place to study for an MA in stage and event management at the Royal Welsh!
She stepped in as stage manager during Meeting of Minds, bringing method to the madness backstage with only days' notice, so we know she's going to be brilliant at it. Also we love her. Like, loads.

Mischief Theatre Company live up to their name in "The Play That Goes Wrong" - nothing short of magnificent. Saw it at the Theatre Royal last night and left a note for the stage management to congratulate them on such a splendid job. Congrats to the actors too, of course, but I think they got enough applause to understand that ;)

If you've noticed a silence, yes, we've paused after a series of catastrophes hitting the production. (Honestly you couldn't make it up. We should know - we make stuff up for a living.) But don't worry, OGLers, WE'LL BE BACK!
So live and so kicking it'll take someone's front teeth out.

Had a lovely time filming in the Herschel Museum's music room this morning! In the books, Holmes plays the violin; by using this location for 221B we have casually added to his repertoire the harp, the piano, the alto sax and the military serpent.

Cameraman pauses to admire our magnificent set during the shoot yesterday.

Happy Easter from OGL!
As a little present, here's a tiny sneak peak at some of the locations we'll be using. Think of it as an Easter egg, if you will.

Booking filming for Production Weeks 1 + 2 on "Holmes & Watson: A Meeting of Minds". We'll be kicking off proceedings at the charming Herschel Museum of Astronomy, and then back to our old stomping ground, the Museum of Bath at Work. Can't believe our locations - this film is going to look so fit!

Location recce at the Herschel Museum today - what a beaut. People who saw the stage version of , we're looking for an excuse to get the telescope in somehow. Which character do you think would be most likely to dabble in astronomy?

Anyone who's ever made a rehearsal or filming schedule will understand the magnitude of what's about to happen. At least 17 locations, 13 actors, 15 weeks, 7 days a week, 3 slots a day (morning, afternoon, evening). Then camera crew, make-up artists, costumes, sound equipment, etc. The mother of all spreadsheets coming up!

That awkward moment when you're location-scouting and you see somewhere so perfect you almost have a coronary. This film is literally killing us.

Well into pre-production for , and we're scouting some proper fit locations! If you like, we could do some little Production Diary vlogs to give you lot a peek behind the scenes - Like this status if you want us to :)
