Amy Young established A.Y. Dance five years ago when she began teaching dance classes in her home town of Bath. She decided to diversify by adding more services that she could offer to her current business as a freelance dance teacher.
After working hard to build a website, and start promoting her services, the business started to take off. Offering dance workshops to hen party groups to start with, as well as wedding dance tuition and kids dance parties. As a fully trained, professional dancer in many styles, she wanted this to come across in her company. This would be by only working with other professional instructors, and delivering not just a ‘fun dance class’ but something that was well put together, organised, and most importantly to suit the client's needs and requirements. Her dance parties are always very ‘bespoke’ and she likes to engage with her clients and get to know them as much as she can before the class. She believes that the client needs to trust and buy into the person before they buy the service that they are offering. That way they know that they are in good hands, and are going to have a positive experience in the hands of someone professional, personable and most of all, likeable!
Not only did she want to deliver a well organised, dance party full of fun and easy to follow, but Amy also wanted to add something extra! Something for each hen to take away with them. Not prosecco, they would have seen many bottles already, and not a certificate to get left and thrown away with other bits of paper. Something they could keep, and remember the experience, fitting with the hen party theme. This is when the ‘A.Y. Dance’ party bag was born. A branded bag complete with a personalised engraved shot glass with the name of the hen and the date of the class. Perfect! This was teamed up with a sweet cone and a leaflet, and the hens loved them! From then on this is what sets A.Y. Dance apart when it comes to hen parties - as well as the bespoke, professional, polished service that is delivered 100% of the time of course.
As the business grew, Amy started to promote dance entertainment as a service, as she wanted to continue her love for performing and choreographing. A.Y. Dance now offers top-class dance entertainment for events and parties. As well as an extra ‘audience participation.’ After a great show-stopping routine is performed by her amazing team of dancers, the audience would get the chance to jump up and learn a few steps themselves! This would be a great way to get the party going after the performance. Amy choreographs and produces the routines herself, something that she is passionate about and has always loved doing. She only works with professional dancers trained to a high standard, with personality and stage presence. This knowledge coming from training hard and working as a professional dancer herself.
