'Pathways' a new exhibition by St Saviour's Junior School is now on display in the Artsparks Corridor (B10).

This project began by thinking about pathways: across fields, parks, over bridges, up and down hills and mountains, through woods, over streams and rivers, by the sea, through imaginary worlds and remembered places into sunsets, blue skies, dark starry nights and cloudy mists….amongst lots of other ideas.

The children are all aged between 7 and 9 years. They experimented with watercolours and watercolour pencils to create their own compositions. They thought about how to show perspective and lead you into their paintings; horizons, foreground and distance were beautifully considered, using colour, texture and line to realise and express their wonderful concepts.

It was very difficult to just narrow it down to these few paintings for the exhibition at the RUH, but others will also be on display in June and July at St. Saviours’ Church and around Larkhall shops and cafes, as well as school.

We hope they can ignite your imagination and enjoyment!

Prints are available for sale with one third paid to the RUH.

‘The objects contained within the boxes invite children to journey through the seasons and connect with their bodies, offering abstract sensory experiences that are accessible to a variety of cognitions, evoking curiosity, wonder and a sense of connection to the natural world.’

It is an individual experience for children in hospitals and has been awarded funding from Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant.

It’s Creativity & Wellbeing week 🩵🎶 London Arts and Health

Our brilliant Musician in Residence, Frankie Simpkins, regularly visits the Children’s Ward, NICU, OPU and several other areas around the RUH Bath, performing for patients, visitors and staff.

Yesterday, Frankie sang for a little boy on the Childrens ward who had previously heard her perform while he was a patient in NICU — a lovely moment of continuity, comfort and familiarity for both him and his family.

Thank you to NEW. Friends of the RUH for making this possible 🩵🎶

'30 Years of Bath Artists’ Studios - a collaborative exhibition with Art at the Heart of the RUH' is now on display in the Central Corridor (B4 - B8).

Celebrating three decades of artistic practice, Bath Artists’ Studios presents a special anniversary exhibition at the Royal United Hospital. For 30 years, the studios have supported a vibrant community of artists, makers, teachers and creatives, fostering experimentation, collaboration and public engagement in Bath.

This exhibition brings together work by studio holders, reflecting the diversity of practices at Bath Artists’ Studios, ranging from painting and sculpture to photography, textiles and mixed media.

Presented within the unique setting of the Royal United Hospital, the exhibition aims to offer moments of reflection and inspiration for patients, staff and visitors. It celebrates not only the achievements of the past 30 years, but also the ongoing role of art in supporting wellbeing and enhancing everyday environments through creativity.

Bath Artists’ Studios is a vital space for artistic development, and this exhibition marks an important milestone in its history.

All artwork is available for sale with one third paid to the RUH.
