We are looking for 2 female identifying or non-binary actors and 2 male identifying or non-binary actors to take part in the filming of Teddy Andraste’s play MILK.
Synopsis:
"In a world not too dissimilar from our own, women are raised knowing quite quickly that their bodies do not belong to them. MILK looks at the story of Daisy and Mary, two young women whose friendship is formed in a severely dystopic situation and tested continuously. In the explicit and vulgar play, MILK questions ethics and humanity; both within our world and the worlds beyond our control"
Roles:
BEN: The top farmer, he is in control. 30’s, he is not a man of many words.
JOHN: A farmer, late 20’s to early 30’s. John is assertive but works under Ben. (Must be comfortable singing)
DAISY: A young woman who is optimistic about the world and naive. Early 20’s.
MARY: A tired woman. Mary is cynical and knows the hardships of this life. Late 20’s.
This will be a National Theatre style filmed play and will consist of 1.5 days of rehearsal and 0.5 days of filming. Actors will be expected to be completely off book before rehearsals commence; and will need to take direction quickly.
Rehearsals and filming will be for 2 consecutive days in September, located at The Station, Bristol, BS1 2AG, UK. Dates will be organised around the cast and crew. Payment of £60 per day for 6 hour working days, with negotiable expenses.
This casting call is 18+ only and has trigger warnings such as: Su***de, Child Abuse, Sexual Violence, Violence and Strong Language.
