Studio portrait taken during WW1 of Australian Army nurses Sister Doris Brinsley (on left) and Sister Dorothy Rodgers.

Both are wearing the full Army nurses' uniform.

Doris Brinsley was born on the 18th of September, 1892, daughter of George Arthur Brinsley and Anna Rosina nee Wilcox. She enlisted on the 18th of June, 1917, at Adelaide, South Australia, and embarked for overseas on the 9th of November, 1917. She left the service on the 18th of February, 1920. She never married and died on the 17th of June, 1968.

Dorothy Rodgers was born on the 7th of August, 1889, daughter of Thomas Rodgers and Frances Elizabeth nee Chamberlain. She enlisted on the 13th of August, 1917, at Keswick, South Australia, and embarked on the 9th of November, 1917. She left the service on the 14th of June, 1919. She never married and died in 1970.

It's going to be a fantastic exhibition!

We are really looking forward to the launch eve of St.Gregory's Catholic College, Bath Art exhibition at , featuring artworks from their talented GCSE and A-Level students.

Congratulations again to student Grae ✨
who won their age category (16-18yrs) in the 2022 exhibition. Resulting in an exhibition awarded to their school supported by RCS Bath Art and sponsored by 44AD.

You are invited to join us on Tuesday 04 July 6-8pm for the opening at 44AD artspace - 4 Abbey Street Bath BA1 1NN

Exhibition continues Wed 05 - Sat 08 July 2pm-6pm

Sunday 12 March at 4:30pm at ✨

We will be launching the RCS Bath Artists’ Prize 2024
and...

..revealing the theme for 2024’s award! ✨

The reception will accompany a private view of the RCS Bath Artists’ Prize Winners Exhibition, which will feature a wonderful mix of painting, printmaking, assemblage and sculpture, to celebrate the exciting standard of artwork entries from 2020 and 2022.
On display will be artworks from:

Thanks to Mark Johnson who has been so generous with his time on ‘Heroes of the Commonwealth’ project ✨
Mark’s great uncle John Jellicoe Blair is one of our 12 heroes commemorated by 12 local schools.
created a ‘graphic novel’ style account of John Jellicoe Blair’s life. JJB was a celestial navigator flying Lancaster bombers in WW2 and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross award. Why not visit to find out more of his story and see the rest of this wonderful show.
Heroes of the Commonwealth is open Sat 12 Nov 12-5pm and Sun 13 Nov 1-4pm

Lots of gallery visits from schools today! The children loved seeing their artworks on display at for ‘Heroes of the Commonwealth’ exhibition - a collaboration with ✨
You can visit the exhibition Sat 12 Nov 12-5pm and Sun 13 Nov 1-4pm ✨

The classes had spent time researching their chosen heroes and so much hard work making fantastic artworks. It seemed a touching tribute for them to see their chosen hero commemorated today with a wonderful service at .
