Visited my picture 'Sidelong' at Sock Gallery Open Exhibition in Loughborough...there are many lovely artworks here so I was even more surprised to have received the runner-up prize 😊!

The exhibition is on until 1st September if your looking for something to do, I highly recommend a visit to this relaxed gallery space

Life drawings again! This was done on one of those sweltering evenings, everyone including the model was a tad warm.

I think I do a lot of life drawing as it’s the most relaxing artwork I do due to the time constraints.
Poses are often short to begin with - just a minute or two - followed by longer poses of 10/15 mins and then a final 40/45 minute, so you just have to pick up your pencil/charcoal/pastels and crack on with it…this means I don’t have time to overthink, get too detailed or come back and rework it a few days or weeks later as I often do with paintings…

Don’t really know why I still post though as they get restricted for content, hope you like this one if you get to see it!

I've been working on this painting of my daughter on and off for several months as I just wasn't happy with it, I feel it's where I want it to be now and when I hung it I realised how well the colours looked against our green wall!

Unfortunately the bamboo in our garden no longer has these lovely green leaves - they're now brown and shriveled - glad I have this painting as a reminder 😄
