💕 🎶 Coming to The Loft – Jess Tuthill! 🎶💕

Get ready for something a little bit different as we welcome singer-songwriter Jess Tuthill to The Loft!

Hailing from Reading, Jess has been writing songs for over 20 years, drawing inspiration from the world around her – including the rather unexpected influences of television and computer games!

Her instrument of choice is the ukulele, which she’s played for years – partly, she admits, because it makes her feel like a giant when she plays!

Jess’s music can be delicate, thoughtful and beautifully melancholy, with a warm voice and heartfelt songwriting that can move you one minute and make you smile the next. Her performances combine emotional depth with a lovely sense of humour, making for an intimate and captivating live experience.

Jess has performed at London’s iconic Union Chapel, sharing the stage with artists including Kathryn Williams and Michele Stodart of The Magic Numbers. She has also fulfilled a lifelong ambition by recording her album A Beautiful Disaster, produced by Ed Harcourt at the Wolf Cabin and mastered at Abbey Road Studios.

Whether you come for the beautiful songwriting, the ukulele, the humour or simply to discover a brilliant live performer, Jess promises something special.

This Friday at The Loft, we’re delighted to welcome, for the first time, Hoopy Frood – a band celebrating over twenty years of creating rich, imaginative music that blends classic rock, psychedelic soundscapes and ambient electronica into something truly unique.

Formed following the release of their debut album Psychonaut in 2004, Hoopy Frood quickly made their mark, sharing the stage with legendary psychedelic pioneers Ozric Tentacles just a year later. What began as a one-off live performance with close friends soon evolved into a long-standing musical journey that has seen the band release acclaimed albums including Psychonaut, Indigo and Affirmations, earning devoted listeners around the world.

Drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Björk, Bob Marley, Ott and Shpongle, Hoopy Frood creates music that is atmospheric, uplifting, thought-provoking and wonderfully immersive. Their sound moves effortlessly between organic instrumentation and ethereal electronic textures, taking audiences on a musical journey unlike any other.

This Friday, we’re delighted to welcome Luke Fraser to The Loft for an evening of intimate, imaginative and wonderfully unpredictable music.

Luke moves effortlessly between genres, creating his own surreal take on indie folk. His music is rooted in warm acoustics, gentle strings and atmospheric synthesisers, with honest, intimate and sometimes scathing lyrics that can be both thought-provoking and beautifully understated.

He has been described on Radio X and Absolute Radio, as “an engaging and authentic voice in the modern scene.” He has also featured in a BBC Introducing live session, building a reputation for captivating live performances.

Come along, bring your friends and settle in for an evening of something a little different.
