DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN HAVE A BIRTHDAY PARTY AT PROTEUS? 🎈
Right in the centre of Basingstoke.
You bring the birthday child and their favourite people.
We provide the space AND the entertainment.

Because we're a local creative organisation, we can tailor the party rather than squeezing your child into a one-size-fits-all package.

Got a birthday coming up?
Send us the date and we'll check availability. 🎂

🎪 TOP TIP #21: Games for different age groups!

Different ages need different games. Here's what works:

Under 5s: Musical statues, pass the parcel, simple relay races
5-8 year olds: Treasure hunts, charades, musical chairs, party games with rules
9-12 year olds: Team games, scavenger hunts, more competitive activities
Teens: Karaoke, group challenges, interactive games

Pro tip: Mix age groups? Choose games everyone can enjoy together—that's where the real magic happens! 🎯

🌟 TOP TIP #20: Remember—it's about the memories, not perfection!

Here's the truth: the best parties aren't always the fanciest or most perfectly planned. They're the ones where:
✓ Kids are laughing and having fun
✓ Everyone feels welcome and included
✓ There are genuine moments of joy
✓ Parents see their kids happy
✓ Everyone leaves with a smile

Stop stressing about perfection and focus on creating memories. That's what matters! 💫

🧩 TOP TIP #19: Have a mix of structured and free play!

The best parties balance structured activities with free play:
✓ Structured games (relay races, pass the parcel)
✓ Free play time (let kids chat, play together, relax)
✓ Structured entertainment (magic show, storytelling)
✓ Unstructured time (crafts, dancing, hanging out)

This mix keeps things interesting without overwhelming anyone. Kids need time to just be kids! 🎪

💚 TOP TIP #18: Make every child feel included!

The best parties are ones where EVERY child feels special and included:
✓ Have games where everyone can participate
✓ Celebrate all achievements, not just winning
✓ Have quiet spaces for kids who need a break
✓ Make sure shy kids get a chance to shine
✓ Adapt activities for different abilities

Inclusion isn't just nice—it's essential. Every child deserves to feel like they belong! 🌈

🎯 TOP TIP #17: Set clear expectations with parents!

Before the party, communicate clearly with parents about:
✓ What time it starts and finishes (stick to it!)
✓ What's included (games, food, entertainment)
✓ What to wear (is it a messy party? Is there a theme? Or general Fancy dress?)
✓is it a drop and go party?(usually from 7 years)
✓ if drop off then make sure you have Parents phone numbers just in case a child is unwell or upset.

Create a what’s app group

Clear communication = fewer surprises and happier parents! 📋

🚨 TOP TIP #16: Have a backup plan for everything!

Garden parties are great but the UK weather is unpredictable, and things don't always go to plan. Be ready for:
✓ Bad weather (have indoor games ready)
✓ A child feeling poorly (have a quiet space available) have someone who can call parent.
✓ Dietary surprises (keep some plain options on hand)
✓ Equipment failure (have a backup speaker or games)
✓ A shy child who needs extra encouragement

A good backup plan means nothing can derail your party. You've got this! 💪

💚 TOP TIP #16: Remember—it's about the kids, not perfection!

Here's the truth: the kids won't remember if the decorations were Pinterest-perfect or if the cake was shop-bought. They'll remember:
✓ Laughing with their friends
✓ The fun games and activities
✓ Feeling special and celebrated
✓ The people who made them smile
✓ The magic moments you created together

So take a breath, let go of perfection, and just enjoy the party. The best parties are the ones where everyone—including you—is having fun! 🎉

🧩 TOP TIP #15: Have a backup plan for everything!

The best party organisers are the ones who expect the unexpected:
✓ Games that flop? Have 2-3 backups ready
✓ Weather ruining your outdoor plans? Know your indoor option
✓ A kid gets upset? Have a quiet space they can chill in
✓ Food runs out? Have extra snacks on standby
✓ Entertainment cancels? Know what you'll do instead

Pro tip: Write a simple timeline on the day and keep it flexible. Plans change, and that's okay! 📋

📸 TOP TIP #15: Capture the memories!

Photos and videos are pure gold—they're what parents treasure and what kids remember. Here's how to nail it:
✓ Designate someone to be the photographer
✓ Get shots of kids having fun, not just posed pictures
✓ Capture the cake moment and sing-along
✓ Take a group photo at the end
✓ Share photos with parents afterwards (they'll love you for it!)

Pro tip: A few candid shots beat a hundred stiff poses every time! 📷
