Only 4 days until our September Community picnic

*NEW LOCATION ON MAP - WEATHER FORECAST ATTAHCED*

Jointly organised by Gloucester Park Community Group - Basildon (Public)and Bas Arts Index CIC, this free community picnic brings residents together through shared food, creativity, music, wellbeing and community connection.

This is a relaxed, family-friendly gathering bringing residents together through shared food, creativity, music, wellbeing and community connection. There will be arts activities, space for children and families, and some home-cooked community food tasters.

For us, creativity is not only painting or performance, it can also be cooking, gardening, making, sharing stories, caring for the park, and bringing people together. These picnics are about celebrating the everyday creativity that already exists in our community.

What we have in store for 12th September:

Arts and crafts with

Tai Chi with Gary Mathews of Jintou Martial arts

Upbeat playlist from Nate the Vibe Dictator

Food tasters from around the world, including drinks and tea from Maks Desi Delights

Everyone is welcome. Bring a picnic blanket, your own snacks or lunch if you’d like, and come spend time with neighbours in a welcoming outdoor space.

Join us for the last picnic for the Summer and hear about plans for the Autumn.

DEADLINE TOMORROW – BRING US YOUR BASILDON

Basildon has made it to the final stage of the first ever UK Town of Culture competition. Yep, you heard us right.

Now we’re asking YOU to help shape the next stage. We're looking for 20 artists and creatives with a connection to Basildon to help develop the town's UK Town of Culture bid.

Successful applicants will receive a £1,000 commission to create new work exploring the people, places, stories, and culture that make Basildon what it is.
Whether you work in music, film, photography, visual art, fashion, performance, writing, digital media, or something entirely different, we'd love to hear your idea.

August Community Picnic

Here are the remainder of the photos from last month’s Community Picnic at Gloucester Park with Gloucester Park Community Group - Basildon (Public)

A lovely day bringing people together through music, creativity, food, games and good company.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day happen, especially K-A-B for the brilliant live music and organic music session, Katie In Colour for the beautiful Wishing Tree activity, Tony for bringing Tai Chi to the day, and Maks Desi Delights and The G's kitchen for being part of it all.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special day.
