What a year it’s been for our amazing community drama group — full of creativity, laughter, courage, and unforgettable performances. This photo captures the heart of SBPlayers: a brilliant group of people coming together to perform, support one another, and have a lot of fun along the way.

As we step into 2026, we’re excited for new productions, new faces, and many more moments both on and off stage. Thank you to everyone who has performed, helped backstage, supported from the audience, or cheered us on throughout the year.

Well done to all our team of volunteers!!🎭

You may recall that Barton was recently shortlisted in the Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Excellence Awards 2024-25 in the Pride in Your Place category. At the presentation evening last Friday, Cllr Paul Vickers, Chair of the Tourism Partnership, accepted the finalist certificate on behalf of the group.

Whilst we may not have come away triumphant on the night, we are still incredibly proud to have made it to the final – this is a brilliant recognition of all the hard work by local residents, volunteers, community organisations, businesses and more to make Barton such a brilliant place to live and visit.

We’re currently in rehearsals working on a murder mystery for June at the Barrow Haven Inn. Please get in touch with the pub to get your tickets!
And there are lots of other shows coming up including the Summer concert with Barton Community Band on Saturday 1st June and ‘Hens’ the next production at The Caxton Theatre Grimsby.

Wilderspin & National School Museum is now open for the Spring/Summer 2024 season. Admission costs just £5 per adult, children go free. This £5 admission fee allows you unlimited return visits to the museum for a 12-month period. 🙌

Step through the school doors and journey back in time to explore what life was like for the schoolchildren of Barton during Victorian England and World War II. 👀🔍

The Museum is open Fridays and Saturdays between 11am and 3pm, and Sundays 11am – 2pm. ✅
