It is looking like a scorcher once again at Barry Island today.

We are open from 11am this morning, and the MET Office forecast is showing a very warm day ahead https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/forecast/gcjsmenye #?date=2026-06-24, with sunny spells, high humidity and temperatures pushing into the low 30s.

There is also an extreme heat warning in place across parts of South Wales, so please plan your visit sensibly. Bring water, wear sun cream, take breaks when you need them and make the most of the seaside breeze when you can.

The rides, the beach, the arcades and the smell of proper fairground food in the sunshine… this is Barry Island weather.

Barry Island Pleasure Park is open today from 3pm.

Be prepared, it is looking like a scorcher.

Bring the sun cream, grab a drink, get your shorts on and make the most of a warm day by the sea. Rides, arcades, food, treats, seaside air and plenty happening across the park.

Whether you are coming down after school, after work, or making an afternoon of it with the family, Barry Island is the place to be today.

As always, opening and ride availability can be weather dependent, but right now it is looking like a hot one! but this is the UK and ANYTHING can happen.

Meet Yanto: Operator of Top Scan, Master of the Cycle and Barry Island Thrill Ride Legend.

Every good ride needs someone who knows exactly how to run it, when to build the suspense, when to bring the energy, and when to make everyone watching say, “I’m not sure I’m brave enough for that.”

Now then… what do we think?

Henry Danter as a vacuum-packed collectible toy might just be one of our favourite things we have seen in a while.

Henry Danter, King of Fairgrounds, Saviour of Barry Island Pleasure Park… complete with all the extras. The only question now is this: might this need to become the next merch item?

We reckon there would be a few people who would happily clear a space on the shelf for one of these.

Candy floss at Barry Island just feels right.

There are some things that instantly make a seaside day out better, and a proper cloud of candy floss is definitely one of them.

Light, fluffy, sweet, sticky, impossible to eat gracefully and somehow part of the whole Barry Island experience.

Grab some while you are having a wander around the park, take it on your stroll along the seafront, or use it as a little treat between rides.

Did you know you can get to Barry Island by train?

No parking stress, no hunting for a space, no sitting in traffic. Just hop on the train, head for Barry Island, and you are only a short walk away from the beach, the seafront and Barry Island Pleasure Park.

With regular rail links into Barry Island, it is a brilliant way to plan a day out, especially during weekends, school holidays and busy summer days.
