I get asked this question a lot so I thought I would make a little post about it!

Customers do find it confusing that we have a shop minimum charge of £100, yet our hourly rate is £80.
It's actually quite common for tattoo shops to do this. So here's a little behind the scenes insight as to why ✨

⚡ Even the tiniest tattoo requires the same attention to detail and care as a larger piece. Each tattoo requires sterile, single use equipment, careful set up and aftercare. All of these factors have fixed costs, no matter the size of the design.

⚡ Small tattoos also take thoughtful preparation. To make a small fine detail tattoo last the test of time we need to take in consideration the placement, sizing and making sure everything is perfect before we start. You're not just paying for the tattoo, there's also the experience that is only achieved through years of practice and time spent outside the shop designing the piece.

⚡ My hourly rate of £80 is for extended pieces of consistent tattoo time. Longer sessions means I'm spending most of my time actively tattooing rather than repeating set up and break down cycles. Because of that it makes sense to charge these sessions at a lower rate because you're paying for continuous work.

My minimum charge simply helps me keep the standard of care consistent for everyone.

Hi everyone! I’ve always been obsessed with movies and I thought it was about time I push myself and work on my black & grey portrait portfolio. To do that I’d love to create pieces of some of my favorite characters!

To help me study and grow my portfolio I’m offering discounted portrait sessions (£250) for pieces up to 25 cm which would roughly be a full day session.

Some of the portraits I’d love to do include:
🎬 Aragorn & Galadriel from LOTR, Leia and Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, Doc Holiday from Tombstone, Snake Plissken from Escape from New York and Leeloo from The 5th Element.

If these characters don't catch your fancy. For example if Aragorn isn't your favorite but Gimli is, I'd be happy to have a chat to work something out!
