NODA AWARD WINNERS! 🎭

We were so proud to attend the NODA District One Awards this weekend!

Shrek The Musical received an incredible 15 nominations, which is a huge credit to everyone involved. Thank you to our amazing cast, crew, creative team, FOH team, and committee for making this show so special 💚 And of course, a big thank you to everyone who bought a ticket to the swamp!

We’re absolutely thrilled to have come away with three very well-deserved awards on the night:

🏆 Chris Addington – Best Musical Director

🏆 Zac McIntyre (Donkey) – Best Comedy Performance in a Musical

🏆 Rhiannon Thompson (Dragon) – Best Vocal Performance

Huge congratulations to three of our Shrek cast –Rhiannon Thompson (Dragon), Jessica Travers (Young Fiona), and Ashleigh Smith (Teen Fiona) –who took home awards at the ACT Spotlight Awards last night! 👏

We’re so proud of them – the recognition couldn’t be more deserved. 💫

In memory of Marjorie Dale

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Marjorie Dale, a long-serving past member of the RMTC committee.

Marjorie gave so much of her time and energy to Rochdale Musical Theatre Company, supporting countless shows - both front of house selling programmes and backstage as a Dresser, and always making sure everyone had a brew and a biscuit at rehearsal.

We will remember her dedication, kindness and friendship over the years. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

🌟 Huge Congratulations to Anya! 🌟

A massive well done to the incredibly talented Anya Rose Bailey, who took 2nd place at Rochdale’s Got Talent last night! 👏🏼

RMTC audiences will remember Anya for her performances as Young Fiona/Baby Bear in Shrek The Musical and Chip in Beauty and the Beast.

The event took place at Rochdale Town Hall and was hosted by the brilliant Michael Thompson, another familiar face from RMTC productions!

Congratulations to everyone involved - what an amazing celebration of the wonderful talent we have right here in our borough!

A huge thank you to our talented singers Jenya, Zac, Charlotte and Anya, who represented RMTC at Champness Hall’s Centenary Concert last night!

We’re so grateful to Champness Hall for inviting us to be part of such a special occasion, celebrating this iconic venue – and RMTC’s home for the past five years. It was an incredible evening showcasing so much local talent and raising funds for Springhill Hospice.

On behalf of RMTC, President David Heaton and Secretary Kath Meredith were proud to present a £500 donation to Jo Ali, Community Engagement Officer at Springhill Hospice. This was made possible thanks to the generosity of our audiences from Shrek and Beauty and the Beast, alongside a contribution from RMTC 🎭❤️

A reminder that our friends at Champness Hall are hosting a cabaret concert to celebrate the venue’s centenary NEXT SATURDAY! 🎭

Some of our incredibly talented singers - Jenya Robinson, Zac McIntyre, Charlotte Crossley and Anya Rose Bailey - will be representing RMTC alongside fantastic performances from comedian Steve Royle, the Rock Choir, a George Michael tribute act and much more.
