Discover the colourful and fantastical world of Mexican alebrijes in this creative family workshop with Mexican artist Ale Bravo.

Ale Bravo will introduce families to alebrijes, the extraordinary creatures of Mexican folk art, before guiding children and grown-ups in designing and creating their own alebrije-inspired mask to take home.

A fun, hands-on workshop for families to create together while discovering a little more about Mexican art and culture.

PLAYCATIONS 2026 was something else! The biggest and best one yet! Our word/play themed event in partnership with the National Year of Reading was soooo busy through rain, epic wind and then a heatwave in the glorious Barrovian sun!

Thank you to the THOUSANDS of people who came and rapped, beatboxed, drummed, graffitied, built, watched, applauded, laughed, played, crafted, painted, quested, wrote stories, visited Wonderland, and experienced the Luminarium!
