I’m currently having the best of times on the Greek island of Paros with my little fam, but couldn’t wait to share the news that my multiblock linocut “Focus I” has been accepted onto the Royal Academy’s summer exhibition which runs 16 June - 23 August. I am incredibly surprised that it’s got through - I can’t really believe it! Super excited to visit over the summer 🥳🥳🥳

Happy belated 100th birthday, Sir David Attenborough!

Here are some fun Blue Whale facts:

-Blue whales are the largest animal ever to live on earth.
-The tongue of a blue whale weighs as much as an elephant.
-They eat up to 40 million krill a day
-They are the loudest creature on the planet - their calls can be heard underwater for hundreds of kilometres.

I created this multi block linocut to finish off my sea creature alphabet - basically so that the 26 letters would fit nicely in a frame! But also to finish off the ABC rhyme (in replace of “now you know your ABC”…)

This is my entry into Black & Blue print challenge.

This little Tabby arrived safely this afternoon for the final round of judging for their summer exhibition. Wish him luck!!

I had loads of fun making this one. If he gets accepted, I’ll need to print a few more of the edition so I might attempt a little process real (well out of my comfort zone!). Also considering adding to the range - I already have a Ginger, what do you think I should go for next? Tortoiseshell? Black and White? Or a dog breed? (I’ve got a whippet already) Let me know what you think…

Lynmouth Harbour - mini-reduction linocut, finished just now, in time for the bank holiday weekend 🥳
Small edition of around 10 - the first one will be winging its way to Watchet in a couple of weeks time as part of the mini print exhibition at Can’t wait to see the other entries!

Also, I feel I should mention that I’ve been working on two at the same time for this exhibition - the second didn’t work out quite how I planned (as is the way with reduction prints sometimes). It is currently sulking on the drying wrack, after our big fall out 😭 We may reconcile next week and I’ll attempt to salvage something by introducing additional blocks…we’ll see…but either way, it’s missed its chances of appearing at Easy Quay, so I’m sending a little Nuthatch instead ♥️

Have a fabulous bank holiday all!

Very happy to hear that a copy of this one found a new home over the weekend, from where it was part of annual exhibition. “Furze along the coast path” is a reduction linocut print, inspired by the beautiful south west coastpath around Morthoe in North Devon.
WhoBid’s show is now finished, but I have various prints displayed as part of down in Ivybridge, until the end of May - including one of these - and I’m just prepping for a couple of upcoming exhibitions that I will share details of in the near future.

Happy Monday to you all ♥️
