I had a lovely morning as usual with the POSCH group at Bedale making self-love valentine/imbolc bookcards. Each one with a personally crafted message for the maker - a message of love and support for themselves.
If you're interested, why not contact me to find out when I'm doing my next workshop? - always making stuff that promotes self-care, self-love, and soul-tending.

"Andrea's groups are always inspirational and inclusive."

Do you feel the tidal pull towards change and transformation and need some space and support to realise your deepest wishes for yourself?

The seal skin is the soul skin — the story teaches about the cost of losing our connection to what keeps us alive beneath civilisation’s demands. It speaks of embodiment, belonging, and the betrayal of our deeper rhythms when modern life (the fisherman, the human shore) steals our skin in the name of love, duty, or progress. To live without our seal skin is to live in exile from ourselves; to reclaim it is to risk being misunderstood — and to come home.

"Gentle swells had replaced the angry waves of yesterday. The gentle breakers made their way to shore glinting with green as they somersaulted to share. The waves showed an edge of lacy foam that caressed the sand. It was peaceful."
Sharon Brubaker: Earth and Sea: A Selkie Tale.

Come with us to this warm community venue where cosy indoor corners flow into wide open spaces by the lake, with hidden nooks and crannies - a place woven with laughter, stories and quiet spots which invite the wind and water to join the conversation.

We invite you to these wild transformational days of shelter and sky, where you'll find:
Ritual & symbolic Earth traditions
Exploring presence through dreaming, music and movement
Soul tending and listening through stillness
Creative practice and journallingSitting with complexity
A sprinkle of the unexplainable &
An optional wild swim!
Hot drinks and a bring and share lunch

This is the first in a series of 3 full day retreat / workshop experiences that can be booked together or separately.

Each day is held in the lovely community venue The Hub (TCR) in Barnard Castle. We will be held by a lovely open indoor space with easy access to the outdoor gardens and extensive grounds, including a space to sit and dance outdoors, and options to wild swim in the lake.

Themes that ripple through all these days:
Wild & domesticated - the tension between wild home and tamed world
Memory & return - the soul's insistence on remembering what modernity makes us forget
Relational sovereignty - love that does not require captivity
Reclaiming the wild self - the necessary act of disobedience that restores aliveness

Jayne Johnson & Andrea Hobbs are both creative and wild therapists who are experienced group facilitators.
They are both passionate about exploring all creative mediums to support self-discovery and soul-growth; in relation to ourselves, each other, and the natural world. They bring their combined loves of music, movement (dance), creating (art) and representative pieces from a wide range of materials - dream-work, visualisations, sitting with silence, and shamanic practices - gathering in one basket a unique offering that is woven together with their love, energy, and compassion.

We will provide all materials needed for your day plus teas, coffees and snacks for breaks
Please bring your own lunch or food for a shared lunch.

You may also want to bring a blanket or wrap, a cushion, a journal, water bottle, and anything else to ensure you are comfortable.

Wearing loose and comfy clothing is advisable, and if you fancy a dip in the lake, bring swimwear!

31 days of August.
This mindful practice takes me 30 minutes each morning. Stitching in silence one day at a time, half dozy from sleep, drinking my first cup of tea. Last week I realised I was stitching in the memory of Dad dying 19 years ago now . The day his soul decided to leave, the day he died. The day the Dad shaped hole appeared in our lives🧡⭐️

This is a Slow Stitch Wellbeing Workshop: A Gentle Gathering of Hands, Threads, and Hearts

You are warmly invited to a 2-hour Slow Stitch workshop—a gentle, grounding experience where the focus is not on perfection or productivity, but on rest, sensory delight, and being together.

In this small, welcoming group, we slow down and let our hands lead. With colour, touch, and the soft rhythm of stitching, we create space for our nervous systems to settle, for emotions to breathe, and for quiet joy to emerge. There is no competition here—just presence, curiosity, and the calming magic of making something in good company.

✨ Whether you’ve never threaded a needle or you’ve stitched for years, you are welcome.

Andrea—an experienced facilitator, artist, wild therapist, and companion on the soul’s journey—brings a calming presence and clear, simple guidance. Her gatherings invite trust in your own pace, your own hands, your own way of being.

All materials are lovingly provided, with an eclectic treasure trove of fabrics and threads for you to rummage through and choose what calls to you.

If you enjoy exploring with your hands, crave gentle community connection, or simply want a soft space to land for a while—come join us.

Let’s stitch, slow, and soften—together.

🌱 Booking essential—spaces are limited to keep the group small and intimate.

Our Sisters in Stitches drop-in group is so friendly and relaxed. And we had a lovely time together in the sunshine last week playing with natural ways to colour cloth and make pretty patterns. No chemicals, just plants and a bit of rusty water.

This group is currently a funded activity so we just ask for a suggested donation of £5 but there's no pressure.
If you'd like to join us you can find out more from the Teesdale Day Clubs website or feel free to DM me here.
All materials are provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own stitch project. If you're stuck with something I can usually help you get going again 🧡⭐️

Next meeting is 23rd August.
We always meet 2-4pm at Cotherstone Old Chapel Cafe & Shop
