We have had a lovely week so far.
Enjoying walks out in the village, Musical Moments 🎶🎵 & a visit from Jos alpacas.
We have been keeping hydrated with some lovely mocktails 🍸🍸

We had a lovely coffee morning yesterday and raised £77.00 for our residents fund 🥰

Yesterday our residents participated in a group quiz with our carer Karen, today we are starting the day off with some one to one Jigsaws 🧩

We finished the week at Abbey lea with u sit u exercise 💪🎶
We then had a party with delicious Cocktails & Mocktails, because why not 🍻🥂
Our coffee morning is 1 week today, 12th June at 10am. We hope to see you then! ☕️

We cant believe its already June, the temperatures have dropped a little bit, but our residents have been enjoying activities inside, we enjoyed our visit from Musical Momentswhich involved lots of different activities.🎶🎤🎺🎻

What a lovely bank holiday weekend we have had, we spent a small amount of time outside in short bursts due to the heat 🥵
Residents enjoyed plenty of drinks🍻 and icecream 🍦to keep them hydrated.
We had the wonderful Amanda - Singalong Days yesterday with lots of music🎤🎶
Today we have enjoyed a visit from Musical Moments with reminiscence, music and lots of props.🎻🎺
For those who did not want to join in Zoe our housekeeper spent the time planting up the planters, and planting vegetable plants with the help of the other residents 🌷

Temperatures are climbing across the bank holiday weekend, with Monday set to be the hottest day of the year so far!! 🌞
For older adults, very hot weather brings real risks - the body regulates temperature less well with age, and dehydration can set in faster than expected. If you have an elderly parent, neighbour or relative, it's a good weekend to check in! A few things that genuinely help:
💧 Encourage regular drinks
🪟 Close curtains on the sunny side of the house; open windows once it cools
🕚 Stay out of direct sun between 11am and 3pm
👕 Light, loose cotton clothing and a wide-brimmed hat outside
🧴 Sunscreen SPF 30+ with 4 or 5-star UVA, reapplied often
🚗 Never leave anyone in a parked car, even briefly
Watch for heat exhaustion - tiredness, dizziness, headache, intense thirst. Move the person somewhere cool, give water, and call NHS 111 if symptoms don't improve in 30 minutes. Hot skin that isn't sweating, confusion or loss of consciousness is heatstroke - call 999.
