Powered by part of the mighty Locked Soundsystem, and under the moniker ‘Krooked Beginnings’, we put on a free night of Hip Hop. And fair play to all you Hip Hop heads of Bangor, you really packed the place out and even drank the bar dry of one or two spirits! Not to mention rocking the stone caverns of the Waterloo with great vibes all round. The waters were indeed tested and the New Year saw a g
reat opportunity to bring Bangor some much needed Hip Hop vibes. On March the 11th 2011 Krooked, as we are now known, threw a party in The Greek Taverna to celebrate the life of a true Hip Hop legend: Biggie Smalls. And since then we haven’t stopped. As well as our own nights in The Greek, we have played sets alongside The Locked Dubstep and Definition crews, and also supported The Scratch Perverts when they came to Bangor. Add to this the various parties and smaller nights we have played and you can see why we enjoyed 2011 so much. we have also presented and supported a diverse selection of artists and acts; from the crazy turntable skills of the Scratch Perverts, through some great UK talents such as Buggsy and Dr Syntax, to the Ghetto Funk madness of Bobby C and B-Side.
