Starting next week: HIVE Kids Creative Workshops - Kinetic Beasties with Ray Downie

Get your kids creativity flowing with our next block of kids creative workshops, where we'll learn to make moving sculptures using recycled cardboard and simple tools.

Participants will design and construct large-scale 3D creatures that come to life through movement. From flapping wings to wiggling legs, children will explore how their beasties can move, experimenting with shape, structure and playful engineering. Starting with drawing and modelling ideas, they will develop their designs into bold sculptural forms before transforming them into kinetic creations. This fun workshop encourages creativity, confidence and big ideas, while celebrating making through sustainable materials.

🗓️Tuesday's 9, 16, 23 and 30 June @ 4pm - 5pm

Mel Shand has been the lead artist of our project, The Far Orchard for the last two years. As her time as lead artist comes to a close, please join us at the Barn to celebrate her final, and biggest piece of work to date:

Saturday 30 May @ 4:30pm at the Barn

We'll see the painting together for the first time, hear all about the process, and we'll chat about where the project goes next! You don't need to be part of The Far Orchard project to come along. This event is open to everyone, and is your chance to help us shape the future of projects at the Barn.
