We were certainly exercising our talents various yesterday! We achieved our first full run on the set with costumes, props and (most of) the “Tech”.

HUGE congratulations to Chrissie Garrett and the cast and crew of BCP's 2026 festival entry - Anthony Horowitz's A HANDBAG - on a barnstorming run across the Oxfordshire festival circuit this week! 🥳

The show was runner up at Lighthorne Festival & Friends, won at Oxfordshire Drama Network festival at Abingdon and won Best Play, Best Actor (Jonathan Muir) and Best Moment (Simon Hook as Colin) last night at Wallingford! 👏

Well done to the entire team and Chrissie for all their hard work - we can't wait to see what happens at the National Drama Festivals Association Finals in Bromsgrove in August!

There will also be one final chance to see A HANDBAG at our annual Season Preview event in September - more details to come!

We have waved goodbye to the rehearsal room this week. Many thanks to St Hugh's Church, Banbury for providing such a wonderful space for the BCP Underdog team to get creative in. We have laughed and cried and shouted and screamed and drunk vast quantities of Yorkshire Tea.

INTRODUCING Sophie Raval
Playing the ‘Other Other’ Brontë of the title - Anne. Shy and reserved like Emily, she overcame her struggles and was the only one of the siblings to hold down a job for any length of time. Known for her 1847 novel Agnes Grey and her 1848 novel The Tenant of Wildfell Hall - considered to be one of the first feminist novels.

With a nod to the grit and determination she had, her Social Media handle would likely be
